Presume they haven't been announced yet?

However the official site has a list (thought it was last season's with Kuipers as 16) including McLeod as 11, Livermore as 14, and Hawkins (as well as Kuipers) as 16!!

No Virgo!

There was pictures of Hart in the early training sessions with 27, although that might of course change now he has another year.

Are you guessing Mr Taylor? Where is the list from. I asked in the club shop on Saturday [need to get a shirt for my boy's birthday next week, and they still didn't know.

According to the reliable Wikipedia, and on the link I posted above. Although it does say numbers may change until official confirmation from the club, so guessing they're just training numbers.

Can anybody give a good reason why Tommy Elphick should not wear the No.4 shirt?

1. Tommy Elphick seems pretty superstitious - he goes through his convoluted routine before every match of kicking the posts and waving to the family stand, so it would seem very plausible that he would wish to keep the shirt that he performed so well in last season.

2. No.4 is Hinsh's shirt. If the club are still saying that they expect him to make a full recovery, then that's great. To say that, then take his shirt away would be undermining that position, and weakening confidence in his return.

3. Why WOULD Elphick wear the No.4 anyway? Its not a traditional centre-back number. If anything, if you want to play at that, he should have 6, and El Abd would have another.

1. I'll buy that. There's no rationality behind superstitions, or any purpose in arguing against them.

2. Hinsh hasn't played for months. There's no guarantee of him returning, and even if he does, of being in the first team for a while after. Elphick, on the other hand, it a first-team regular, and wearing one of the first 11 numbers is a sign of your status in the squad.

3. I'm sure I could think of some pretty famous decent centre-backs who've played at No.4 in their day. If I thought about it.

Go on then.

For every ONE, I'll give you TEN who wore 5 or 6.

I'm sure you can. I'm sure I can too.

But why dislodge a first-team regular's (El-Abd) squad number, when a long-term crock (Hinshelwood) is so much more prudent?

And No.4 can be a centre-backs number.

Right, 60 No.6s, please.
