I never said centre backs DON'T wear 4. I said it wasn't a centre back's number.

I dare say if I could be ARSED, I could find examples of centre backs wearing 2, 3 12, 15, etc, but you're not arguing that he should be given those numbers.

Wrong. You made that bit up. I didn't give a reason for picking No.4. But now I will. I picked on No.4 because I didn't think Hinshelwood deserved to keep that number, and all other 1-11 numbers are taken. And the fact that Hinshelwood (when fit) and Elphick both do the same job would make it a logical progression for Elphick to take that number.

I don't mind admitting I'm wrong, but I won't do it on the back of a wrong guess.

Obviously that was in a 4-3-3, so prob doesn't hold for the front line now, but does goes to show that 4 belongs at the back, ala Danny Cullip

Are you sure you're not thinking of Dan Royce Wills was a defender in the youth team last year I think.
