This thread is sad on so many levels, if Brighton had just got beaten 0-1 by spurs at their first match in the premier I would have thought they had done well. Not sat there taking the piss and saying how bad they are. We get beaten by Spurs, you lot got beaten by two championship teams. At least we have both found our levels

Enjoyable game with a cracking atmosphere ( apart from the Spurs fans)
With new players coming in, I think we just might get some decent results this season.
Will you be running a thread for every Palace game this season ?

You might score a goal or two by playing your annoying counter-attack game, but that relies on an accurate long ball and Gayle's speed.

I thought you were awful - unlike Hull you couldn't pass the ball very well at all, you just concede possession as soon as you have it. Spurs didn't really step out of 1st gear with new signings bedding in. They had 18 shots, it is sheer profligacy in front of goal that stopped it being 0-3+. Going to be a long, long season for you lot.

Makes it happy being an Albion fan though - as I've mentioned, possession and accurate passing is key when playing teams like Tottenham, and our players have learned how to keep the ball very well indeed.

Least your players can swap shirts with big names though, eh? And your fans can get autographs and half-half scarves. Joyous scenes.

Enjoyed that. Spurs looked a very decent outfit and there we only have to play 3/4 teams better than them all season. The atmosphere at Selhurst was fantastic and the Spurs players weren't expecting it, I think it threw them off a bit. Our thin squad is already depleted by injury so we'll need to continue to add quality to it. Chamakh hasn't trained all week and didn't start as he has been sick. Campaña is recovering from injury and Joniesta played in midweek for Wales. Bolasie and Thomas (our only two wingers) were both injured and will be for a few weeks.

As long as we can add another three or four players then we've got a chance this season. Jedinak showed today that he will have absolutely no problems even against the best sides in the Premier League, he is an absolute animal. Ward and Moxey played well as did Williams and Chamakh when they came on. Even though we got nothing from the game I think the performance was very encouraging.

Of course you thought that. Our first XI today was probably the weakest we'll put out all season, we only had 1 new signing on the pitch in Gayle who hasn't yet gelled with the team. When Campaña, Chamakh, etc. are all fit and ready to play I'm sure we'll look a much better side. We gave a good account of ourselves against a top 4 side on our first game back in the Premier League. If you had done the same you'd be pleased.

Extremely self-righteous comment, not a lot more than one would expect from you really. Enjoy the season.

Nice review.
I'm sure your superior style of football will be readily acclaimed in the top division, the thing is ,will you reach the promise land ?

If he can cut out his dirtiness, Jedinak could be a success. Joniesta lol. Gaylssi looked quick, Wilbraymar looked better than he did last season, but I expect you to go down easily this season. Might be wrong, but yeah

Wilbraham tries hard but ultimately he won't ever be a Premier League player. I'd be surprised and disappointed if he made the 25 man squad next month. Chamakh has the potential to do very well for us this season. Without another two or three good signings we'll struggle, but if we get the right players in we've got as good a chance as any of the relegation candidates picked by the media.

Most of us know we are going to struggle this season. Our annoying counter attacking and inability did us ok last season especially the last 3 games of the season. Do you want to become the Arsenal of the Championship admired for your football but never achieve anything?

You're a fool if you base anything on one game especially with our starting 11 today.

Well it seems they know they'll struggle, we know they are going down - not much to debate really, but these threads are fun and uplifting :lolol:

So now our Premier League team becomes Stoke :guitar:

Your best player by a yard was 40 year old Phillips. The "Welsh Wonder" looked like a lost child and Moxey must have thought he was playing Basketball.

Spurs were very lacklustre today and flattered you.A decent Prem side will beat you every week.

I'm still jealous mind you. But you are going to embarrass yourselves a lot this season. Holloway is already lining up the excuses.

It's going to be a long old slog for the Massively outclassed Williams and Dobbie.
Still, if Kevin Philips can manage ninety minutes every week, they may score once or twice.

..oh.
