And no mention of those staff being on EVERY train either

on one of the strike days I was travelling back to Btn and a 'guard' asked to check my ticket, an elderly gentleman barked at him 'why aren't you on strike?'
fast forward to end of conversation, the 'guard' admitted he was revenue protection. I think this sums up why things can't just stay as they are (to me anyways)

Ah so their true colours are finally shown...maximum inconvenience to passengers, the very people they spuriously are saying they want to "protect" in the name of safety.

And thus the most ineffective strike ever is carrying on. Begs the question why? Punters like me are now throwing the union in with Southern management so all sympathy was lost ages ago...yet still they continue.

Disagree, the union is in a battle they know they can't win and by telling their members to accept Southern's offer is them admitting defeat. To keep striking is just a swipe at Southern and the tory government. The continued loser remains the end customer.

I have no problem with the union looking out for their members as thats what they are there to do. What I do have an issue with is the union continuing to tell us they are doing it for our benefit.

Yep. Thats my view. Be honest and say its about job protection. Its never been for our benefit or safety. What a load of shit.

Interesting now as both sides are getting desperate hence the more dramatic threats and counter threats

Just need the strike pot well to run dry. They will be back sharpish when the union cant subsidise the wage anymore. Largely the strike is ineffective but it does compund the misery so we can legitimately call them ALL* *****...apart from the drivers.

* including southern management
