Which part do you not get Ernest is retired? Not a driver? Not a rep for aslef or rmt? So tell me how you think what he says is from the horses mouth? I'll leave it to Ernest to call you stupid.

No need for a strop! But at least you have cleared up the mystery so thanks for that - he is none of these things so when he comes on here sagely telling everyone about the railways, it is total unadulterated rubbish. At least we now know.

It's not 'rubbish' though is it?

Are you saying that because he's retired/not a driver, he doesn't know anything about the situation?

He's probably better placed to comment than 99% of the contributors to this thread.

Done a Frexit, now in London
From Southern:
Brighton & Hove Albion v Leeds United

Today's services are being severely disrupted by industrial action by ASLEF. We are planning to provide a normal service for this evening's match at the Amex Stadium. However, buses will replace trains between Seaford and Lewes and trains between Brighton and Lewes are likely to be extremely busy.
Please allow plenty of time for your journey and check National Rail Enquiries before you travel.

I'm committed to going. Not sure I'll be getting home. Hope tonight is worth it. UTA!

Why would he be better placed? Is he privvy to the inner sanctums of SASTA / RMT / Transport Ministry?

Most of what he puts up here is supposition like the rest of us; coupled with childish name calling to anyone that might offer a different point of view.

I fear tonight will be chaos but got a ticket so I'm committed to going.

I appreciate this is a first world problem but it's maddening not to be able to just enjoy the game without worrying what shit will greet you when trying to get home. I certainly won't be taking my Grandson to any more of these after the Villa debacle, which is a shame as the wee man misses out.

I really don't understand why the club is not pushing back on Friday evening fixtures until this is resolved.

Don't give me that innocent lark. Said poster comes on to this thread at every opportunity wanting to tell us how it is, or rather how he sees it. He was quite explicit about drivers' conditions, and this has totally backfired on him, as he let the cat out of the bag as to how well they are doing.. He was equally explicit as to how well drivers have done with privatisation, and yet has been on here urging exactly the opposite. When he is questioned about the inconsistencies, then he becomes abusive, telling folk that they are stupid.

Or have I totally misunderstood you, when you say "hardly from the horse's mouth" Are you therefore saying that we should not believe anything he writes because it is total rubbish and he is not what he purports to be, namely an expert on the situation, who can lecture others incessantly.

The other few posters that actually took the time to try and keep people up to speed with what was going on from their better position within the company have stopped posting , can you think why ?

1851 1908 1940 , useless

Every 10 mins or so between 18:00 and 18:51 (at the moment), but after the game looks rubbish. 20 min gap at 22:00 to 22:20.................about one cancellation away from a riot

Will the Leeds fans be given priority ? This has happened in the past...................not sure with Leeds though.

Leeds fans using the train can only be heading back into town as there is no way they can get home by train so keep them back in the ground till queues have died down

Lucky that I can walk home along Lewes Road.

The atmosphere is going to be shit tonight, unless something gets the crowed riled up early doors.

Brighton factually.....

I can see major problems with Leeds fans tonight, I hope I am wrong and nothing does happen in and around the stations or ground.... The last thing the club need is unhappy Leeds fans hanging around anywhere, that is if they even get down from London.

Let's hope for a peaceful night for everyone.

Good luck everyone, so lucky I live within bus, or even walking distance.

Leeds fans on the train will only be local/London, surely. No one would get back to Yorkshire after any evening game.

Huge overcrowding issues on trains tonight poor girl collapsed on my train because of heat and lack of space.

All sides in this are a disgrace and the government to let this get to this level

Sadly it will probably take someone to lose their life before anyone does anything about this complete joke of a service

Such as? Who are these posters? I assume that you have not taken the time to read what I post - I would not defend a company that provides such a woeful service; why should I? But neither do I wish to say that the rail unions are necessarily any better. I presume that you have seen throughout this thread that it started, quite understandably, given the amount of commuters in this region, as a company bashing exercise, but of late opinion is far more evenly spread as to whom one holds responsible for the chaos. Or is that a little too inconvenient for you?
