Lavia, Livramento, Walker-Peters, Ward-Prowse are the only players there of value in my opinion. Particularly Lavia, but he is way out of our price range with Manchester United, Liverpool and even PSG said to be sniffing about.
Lavia would be much more likely to get playing time with us though. He has already been at City and left presumably for first team football, so you never know.

Same.

Easy away trip…… what’s not to like?

As @Stat Brother highlighted, replaced by Burnley FFS!

I’ve never been to Burnley. But from what I can gather from family who’ve been to Albion trips there, all 4 stands contain very vocal homophobes/racists. The Radio Sussex live broadcast is always unpleasant, even near the press box you hear nasty old Arkwright’s complaining all game.

They might think it’s laudable intimidation. It’s not that at all, they’re just an embarrassment.

Exemplified by the Burnley father and son done for homophobia at The Amex.

Not only relegated but probably bottom of league too.

I thought they would be down before our home game with them, but not this soon.
Our home game with them is their next match. So not sure how they could be relegated before our home game but today be too soon?

I might sign up to Saintsweb and ask them how much w koiWard-Prouse might cost.
Last time we were in a higher division than Southampton was the 1959/60 season, they were in what was then Div 3 and we were in Div 2. We were above the in the 58/59 season too which was the first season with national Div 3 and 4 after previously having regional leagues below Div 2.

I believe that is the only time we’ve been a division above them in our history.
Well it won’t be the last……. Good post though 👍

My Burnley born friend said she had never heard of anyone being gay there. She thought maybe they’d be eaten if they came out…. She would never go back…

When was the last time Brighton were in a higher division to Southampton over history?
Even when Brighton were in the top flight 1979/1983 Southampton were higher in the table.
The top south coast team is here now especially with Portsmouths desmise.
football is all about trophies,we have a little bit of catching up to do,on our South Coast neighbours

Nice hotel 20 min stroll from the ground, free parking
Hotel right by the canal, great for an early morning jog
Good crack in the cricket ground pre-match
‘Lively’ interaction with the home fans during the game

One of the better awaydays IMO

Because they have run out of points and games ? Do you know how the promotion/relegation system works ?
Re read the post I quoted. It says “I thought they would be down before our home game with them, but not this soon.”

It is impossible for that statement to make sense. How could they be relegated before our home game (match 37 for Southampton) but being relegated after game 36 be too soon? When exactly did the poster expect them to be relegated?

Big generalisation there, the vast majority of Burnley fans aren't that much different to Brighton
Remember waving pound notes at Cardiff fans when all the pits were being closed
Fashanu having a banana thrown at him

It was a thought I had a few weeks ago. As at today, not looking remotely closely at it, I hadn't realised they had so few games left and could be relegated today.

I’d rather go to Hades than Burnley
Hades - gateway to Burnley.

Back on topic, I was in Southampton last week after dropping my son off at the port. I noticed that their city centre shop had a closing down sale which seemed pretty apt given the state of the rest of the club.

Their U21's won the PL2 Div2 league though, so not all downhill.

Knew a gay guy from Burnley, he moved to Brighton aged 18, many years ago though to be fair.
