There. I've said it.

I expect I'll get a lot of abuse for this, as I know I've got a reputation for being negative.

But i'd like to think that at matches, I'm quite reasonable.

So I cannot understand why some people decide to act like massive tools at games, screaming insults at players for no reason.

Some of the pricks in H block today were just embarrassing. Firstly they were abusing Murray every time he had a bad touch, or even once when he was slow to get back to the halfway line after shutting down their keeper! Yet when he scored they were singing his name. Cretins.

Then, when we were playing some BRILLIANT passing in the second half, they insisted on preaching bollocks about us not being alert or switched on. Shouting "Wake up Brighton" and "f***ing sort it out" as if we were some Sunday league team - er, if we give the ball away after 20 odd passes, it doesn't warrant abuse. Yes, go mad when our keeper makes a cock-up, that's fine. But don't shout down every little mistake. We're not 1970 Brazil!!!

Yeah, call me a hypocrite if you like - but I don't pay my money to moan at the matches, I pay to watch the football. However, some people are genuine dick heads, who really need to either a) f*** off, or at the very least b) shut the hell up, so the rest of us can enjoy what was a bloody good performance until the 90th minute.

100% agree with every word above.

I'm afraid it's not just H block. A new STH in F block sat next to me with a running commentary full of non stop criticism, foul language and constantly shoving into me. I'm not looking forward to him for the rest of the season. Don't get me wrong, I can shout and sing as well and do but his comments towards players was way over the mark. BTW he was in his 60's so a mere youngster

There are 6,000-odd people in a football stadium. The law of averages would suggest that a portion of them are idiots. I also get very sick of the uneducated whinging that goes on at Withdean, you certainly don't get it at away games as much. I suppose the absence of any kind of atmosphere at Withdean makes it even worse.

You had a free ticket (mine, as it happens), & you feel the need to moan about the experience on here? That's gratitude for you.

Just a thought. If, in future, you find yourself sitting in a seat near somebody who's pissing you off, you could either: (a) Have a quiet word with said person & try & resolve the situation there & then, or (b) Just move to a spare seat in the part of the stand you'd actually prefer to sit in.

I was infact very grateful for the ticket and I thanked Darren several times and said I would buy him a beer next time. Just because I didn't care much for the person behind me it does not mean I didn't appreciate it. Plus once some seats had cleared up I did move to a different seat.

Well your first post didn't sound like you were a very happy bunny to me; and you didn't imply you moved to the l/h side of the block. I'm pleased you were able to make the most of your afternoon in the end. Btw, what did you make of the football?

To be fair to h block about cheering Geer off from where I was in there it was v difficult to see what if anything he had done.

I think he was cheered off because Elding had milked a penalty from the ref and we couldn't believe it.

H Block were the only part of the ground today trying to create an atmosphere, you might of heard individual comments due to the FACT that the ground was so quiet.

The atmosphere at Withdean yesterday was embarrassing , me and Russ sat in H Block and even there was quiet. H Block were nearly outsung by the Rochdale fans.

You are always going to get pricks at Withdean its the same in all grounds across the country!Unfortunately Withdean has got more than its fair share of Half wits who without realising become a major influence on the atmosphere and a huge hinderance on the players. When they talk about the home crowd being the twelth man ,well at Withdean now it becomes the twelth man or sometimes thirteenth(depending on officials) for the away side, this is why our home form has suffered over the past few years.!Some of the treatment dished out by these people is really moronic and totally unwarranted. This keeps alot of people i know from going to matches, they do not want to be associated with these lops.

Good post
I dont understand the majority of our fans, who just make pointless negative comments throughout the match, no matter what is happening or how well the team or that individual player is playing. They seem too interested in moaning to get behind the team, and then when they get home, come on here, and start moaning some more about the atmosphere , maybe if they joined in there would be an improvement! And thats before they start moaning about H block.
