Last game I went too (Yeovil) the guy in front of me was spending the whole time saying how bad Tarrico's hair was. Then about the Hibernian, Motherwell game (that finished 6-6 or summit like that ?), then about what he had for dinner last night. Basically everything but the game!

REALLY?

was this your first game or something? because its ALWAYS been like that, and pretty much where ever you go you'll find someone who grumbles at everything. i fairly sure Arsenal, Chelsea and the like have the same type of fans that expect 90minutes of sublime perfect football. a spanish colleage was disappointed at the way Spain played in the WC ffs. its part of football.

what so we propsoe, ban all negative comments? ban all H blcok fans? or just let it go?

It's not negative comments that are the problem - that's a given at football.

It's absolute goons feeling the need to hurl abuse as if they have some sort of authority to do so, acting as if we have some sort of right to walk the league which pisses me off.

We've spent f*** all money in the summer and lost our captain. Today, some of our football was IMMENSE, and yet there's still a load of fuckwits shouting as if that wasn't the case.

HA for god sake, its football, i was sat in block H today and we were the block making the most noise, when people make mistakes, fans get annoyed, but when they score, block H made more noise than they would giving abuse, GO ON BLOCK H!!!!!
p.s if you dont like it, sit in the family stand.

How do you know H were making the most noise? I mean, if you're in H of course it's going to sound loud to you, you're in there. f***ing cretin.

Oh and FWIW WW is bang on. We have some f***ing retards turn up each week. It wouldn't be a problem if they got behind the team, but they don't.

Someone said earlier on this thread that all fans are fickle, and to a degree they're right, but hate to say it I think our fans have become worse than Spurs fans when it comes to fickle. We don't have a divine right to win anything, and I hate the attitude of "we should be beating teams like Rochdale". We need to get behind the team, you can see it lift them when we do it away and we should be doing it more at home. Not just f***ing moaning.

H block isn't all bad. There are people in there genuinely trying to create an atmosphere.
But there are 20 or 30 that are just wankers that have no place at a football ground, that are clearly more interested in being a twat and what the Chelsea score is.
"Elliott Bennett is a legend, is a legend" :lolol:. Brilliant.

Good to know someone else is in agreement ... and this is the first home game of the season for christs sake !

If you want fickle supporters come with me to SE7.....man we have loads of them! There is one in particular in front of me that,at our opening game this season, berated our man of the match for trying a brilliant attempt to score.

What was up with
a) Cheering and singing Gordon Greer off the pitch for being sent off

b) booing Elding for being pushed by Greer twice within 10 seconds of coming on

the ref told Greer not to do it, then sent him off after the initial warning.

Greer in the first 6 games of our season will be suspended for 5 of them. The other game of which he lasted just over half

Elding got booed because it is clear he came on to wind up Greer and try to get him to do something stupid (I didn't have a good enough view to say for sure whether Greer did anything or not). Greer was probably cheered off because that is what happens when someone is sent off these days, rightly or wrongly.

The irony about Greer was that he was not sent off at all in the main part of the season last year yet has now somehow managed to be sent off in two consecutive competitive games. Hopefully that will be his one for the season as we really need him and Sparrow to be more disciplined.

We had the most annoying woman I have EVER heard at a football match behind us in the family stand - drove us mad with her inane running commentary throughout the match even though she was barely watching it. You know who you are "mate".

Nothing to be negative about yesterday though. Plenty of positives and some of our passing and movement was sublime. 2 individual inexplicable moments from senior players cost us a comfortable victory and Rochdale celebrated at the end as if they had won - quite rightly too as they deserved nothing.

There are some retards at Withdean. When we're keeping the ball and putting passes together, the sound of someone screaming "pass it forwards" makes me want choke the life out of them.

It's not as bad for that now people are getting used to Poyets style of footaball. Other things still grate though, like the teenagers behind me yesterday saying murray was lazy and the team weren't trying. I think it was just before half time and there was a quiet 5 minutes in the game and these lads expect the team to be charging round for 90 minutes - football doesn't work like that.

Listening to some of the younger fans in H block, I do think they've had a bastardised education on what football support is like by only seeing home games at withdean. It's a little bit like on here when we win a game and everyone says we're going up as champions but lose the next game and all of a sudden it's sack everyone and we're going down. I hear those kind of swings of opinion from minute to minute during a game.

That's not me just slagging off younger fans, they've had plenty of moaning old bastards to learn it from. It's all from a lack of football knowledge.

I dont get all this moaning about people in 'H' block, if you really dont like it why the f*** do you sit in there? most of the fans are trying to make an atmosphere at withdean, which doesn't exist in any other part of the ground, yes, some of the comments are a bit childish, but then again they are said by mostly children, i think it's quite funny and often tongue in cheek, far from serious.
It's really simple, if you dont like it, then dont sit in there.

:lolol: I admit I am in a particularly foul mood tonight. That post was a last minute edit, the original one was going to lay into the bloke sat behind me a great deal more.

You had a free ticket (mine, as it happens), & you feel the need to moan about the experience on here? That's gratitude for you.

Just a thought. If, in future, you find yourself sitting in a seat near somebody who's pissing you off, you could either: (a) Have a quiet word with said person & try & resolve the situation there & then, or (b) Just move to a spare seat in the part of the stand you'd actually prefer to sit in.
