In the north stand there is much speculation as to how long into the game we will be before a chap shouts his notorious 'Get into em' or another starts on his 'get a cross in' yesterday we were playing good controlled football and keeping possession but still the calls were coming in. Personally I would rather we kept hold of the ball for as long as possible, working on the principal that if we have the ball the opponents cant score, if they dont score we dont lose and a win is very possible.

There. I've said it.

I expect I'll get a lot of abuse for this, as I know I've got a reputation for being negative.

But i'd like to think that at matches, I'm quite reasonable.

So I cannot understand why some people decide to act like massive tools at games, screaming insults at players for no reason.

Some of the pricks in H block today were just embarrassing. Firstly they were abusing Murray every time he had a bad touch, or even once when he was slow to get back to the halfway line after shutting down their keeper! Yet when he scored they were singing his name. Cretins.

Then, when we were playing some BRILLIANT passing in the second half, they insisted on preaching bollocks about us not being alert or switched on. Shouting "Wake up Brighton" and "f***ing sort it out" as if we were some Sunday league team - er, if we give the ball away after 20 odd passes, it doesn't warrant abuse. Yes, go mad when our keeper makes a cock-up, that's fine. But don't shout down every little mistake. We're not 1970 Brazil!!!

Yeah, call me a hypocrite if you like - but I don't pay my money to moan at the matches, I pay to watch the football. However, some people are genuine dick heads, who really need to either a) f*** off, or at the very least b) shut the hell up, so the rest of us can enjoy what was a bloody good performance until the 90th minute.

Couldn't agree more.

No, you save it up for NSC.

Yep.

This wasn't a post moaning about H block. It was about people feeling the need to shout obsceneties at players for no real reason at all, spoiling the game for people around then.

Idiots.

Agree totally, hadn't seen these idiots there before - they clearly knew f*** all about football. Bring back the kiddies chucking the celery around.

Agree, some knobber near me said he nearly fell asleep because we were passing it around.

I have ALWAYS thought this.

When the equaliser went in someone near me stood up, shouted "Poyet you WANKER. What was wrong with Kuipers?"

I can only assume he felt a pillock when he got home to find out Kuipers had been sent off on his Crawley debut.

these comments from moaning fans happen at every club in every country every week , the fact withdean is almost silent for long periods of time during games makes each individual remark easy to pick out , cant really remember going to away games and hearing a constant stream of insults to our own players (im sure there have been times mind)... hopefully come falmer and a better atmosphere the doom and gloomers will fade into insignificance and will only be heard by themselves

People moan and slag the players off at the match but you do it on here. What's the difference then as players read this forum?

players are advised not to read this forum.

I don't want players to read my posts - if they do, it's because they CHOOSE to do so.

However, people shouting at football do it towards the players. Everyone around them can hear also, and they have no choice but to listen (unless they move, where they will inevitably end up next to another knob).

That may well be so, but what's written on here potentially lingers for a lot longer & has a possible audience of many millions. I don't think either environment is particularly conducive to an enjoyable collective experience...
