And what EXACTLY are you saying the club should have done about that? Drive round and collect it from you?

No, have a priority scheme in place that would have levelled the playing field.

Why should have a Brighton based fan who could put it through the club shop door have advantage over one in London or one in Gloucester ?

Perhaps I should add I did get a ticket !

And so did I despite living far enough away that I was also dependant on the postal system. And why? Because I got my arse in gear in plenty of time. Hurrah.

BUT, if I hadn't that would have been my fault, and only my fault, I would NOT be looking to blame the club.

and how many of our season ticket holders actually get off thier fat arses and attend the dull games.why with a full away end and a 6420 gate was i denied 6(no not together, any seats would have done)tickets by a ticket office that declared the game SOLD OUT.

500 season ticket holding wankers stayed at home and proved thier undying love for the albion by checking teletext at full time.

Watfod didn't bring a full allocation of fans as I could see gaps in their 700 area.
My husband is a season ticket holder so therefore his tkt is classed as sold but he was ill today so he didn't go through the turnstile. That means he wasn't counted as being there.

60 seats are always left empty for safety reasons. There were at least 6 tickets on Nsc for sale this morning. Did you look at those? There were even two together from Gareth Glover.

I entirely agree. I don't blame the club as they have bigger fish to fry at the moment, it's just I think this could have been done better.

People who live out of the Brighton area were at a serious disadvantage this time round due to the Christmas post.

No, I got off my arse and sent my application in by something called SPECIAL DELIVERY, which guarantees next day delivery, even from Manchester. It does not take rocket science to use this service, just £3.75.............and of course I remembered to write 'GLORY SEEKER' in the top left hand corner of the envelope so that the club would give me priority for a Spurs ticket, just as they did for our FA Cup campaign last season.

And what a cold miserable day it was at Lincoln too. 3-0 down and the only consolation was a late McPhee header.

Good for you, it's called initiative !

I just think for the three (?) games this year that are going to be heavily over subscribed, ticket allocation should be based on something more than geographic location and advanced use of the postal system.

Basically, if it matters enough to you, then you find a way. Can't remember the game now, but there was a match a couple of season s ago - one of the promotion games I guess - where I actually drove down one evening, purely to drop the application in the letterbox and rive back again.

The club couldn't come up with a system that would satisfy everyone, it's impossible, so basically they say how it'll be decided, and then it's down to us.

sorry yorkie but your post contradicts your posting in response to my"6402 and i still couldnt get 2 f***ing tickets"thread.in that you lambasted me because i couldn't get two together on the ticket exchange, you even implied that my wife could use my season ticket(i am a shift worker) when i was unable to use it.

no 2 tickets together were available and i had posted a request for two in the forum, you said that if we really wanted to go we would have taken any

now.i dont know how you comfortable you feel in the very masculine environment of a football stadium full of boisterous male spectators but my wife would be reluctant to be sat umong strangers without the security of at least myself or one of our projected party of 6

I saw two advertised this morning from Gareth Glover.

I do feel comfortable nowadays going to matches on my own and sitting on my own because of Nsc funnily enough.

Precisely. I think it would have been a fairer system to accept postal applications only with the proviso that a stamp or postmark has to be on the envelope sent in, stuffing enevelopes through the doors is a disadvantage to both those who live far away from the club and those who live in Brighton but were unable to get down to the club shop due to work or other commitments.

Then everybody is reliant on the vagaries of the postal system at Christmas.

There are further issues like cost to the club, which is a huge consideration. Should also be noted the timing of the Spurs match and the need to invite applications over the busy (postal) period turned it into a bit of a geographical lottery.

In the meantime, kids, get your applications in early. Actually don't, wait a couple of days for me to get mine in !

And just how are the club going to do this "priority scheme" with so many pay on the gate matches? ??? 2-AT!

Name me one game this season you couldn't buy a ticket for beforehand, even if you had the option of paying on the door ?

firstly can i say i'm a season ticket holder x 2 (1 child) an away member and also am lucky enough to have 2 spurs tickets but i do feel the club could have handled the situation better.

1. not all season ticket holders are away members ( i believe i'm right in saying you have to apply on your season ticket application) therefore the club should have given 48hours for season ticket holders with away member membership priority. even if all those applied there would have still been tickets remaining.

2. 48 hrs for non season ticket away members. those away members that get their arses in gear would then be top of the list for the remaining tickets.

and then a free for all the any left.

also i know that anyone could have bypassed the whole letter saga by contacting liz costa who appears to have endless supplies!! my ex-wife who's been to around three games in five years had no problem booking on the coach with a guarenteed ticket. and that stinks!!!

it does appear that many full supporters (home and away) have missed out to the glory seekers. my brother who is a sth but lives in n wales and goes to many of the away games posted his application before me but still missed out. all the season tickets holders around me have also missed out so it will be interesting to see who is actually there at spurs.

Can't say any from the one's I went too* but at least four have been pay on the gate as well, I know a few people on that would rather pay on the day than in advance because they can't afford too. Why should they suffer?

*Please note that I wasn't in the Country for the 2nd half of August so can't comment on Wigan or Leicester.

Can you imagine what would happen if we drew Brighton away in the cup? 5000 STH's and 10,000 AMS members chasing 700 tickets:eek:

All the STHs that complained on SCR had posted their applications a couple of days after details were announced.

WTF were they waiting for? If they wanted tix that badly the application would have been in the post the second details were announced.

The club did this in the fairest way possible. I didn't get a ticket, I don't qualify as STH or AMS. I would love to have gone but i can't, end of story. The lesson to be learnt from this is that if you want tix for big games you have to get your arse in gear, whoever you are.

I still don't understand why the club asks for AMS details for away tickets but don't use that information for a big game like this.

Its smacks of being run like a corner shop. With those details and the STH details they can, at a press of a button, identify who goes to away games regularly and who STH are. What's the problem. We have 6500 tickets to offload. There are about 5000 STHs (that assumes that the every STH can go!!!), do we really have more than 1500 AMS people who are not season ticket holders? If we do, then why cant the club prioritise the AMS people. This will cut out the fair weather Millenium mob.

Again it shows the club can't organise a p1ss up in a brewery and have no idea of loyalty to STH or regular AMS. They will continue to play on our faith and treat us this way. Watch out when Falmer comes and the necessity to get a Season Ticket i not such a priority. They wonder why we don't sell out every game and that they can't raise enough money etc. It works both ways.

And can anyone explain why MP thinks that Away Members contribute in the same way as STHs. Hasn't he realised yet that none of the £1000s spent on travelling round the country to watch the Albion goes to the club.......oops i think i may have discovered a black hole!!!
