So what is Dean Wilkins thinking?

By your own admission, you don't know what's going on at the club, so on that basis you wish to utterly damn the way the club is being run based on observations from afar?

Got you.
Eh? I don't think you 'got me'? As I said it's just my OPINION based on what I observe. Yours might well be different given that, as hinted in your earlier posts, you know more than me. All I can go on is what facts we've been given by the club (Wilkins would have been sacked even if we'd been promoted'), my own observations and my own knowledge that organisations don't run terribly well when one of the major decision-makers, and someone who appears to have a say in the day-to-day running of the club (as opposed to just being a shareholder) lives on the other side of the planet.

Everything I can see and what I can extrapolate from what I know suggests to me the club is currently badly run (too many chiefs and not enough indians for a start). I didn't used to think that, I used to think we were a well-run small club - but then as now I didn't know all the facts.

I dunno, maybe it's always been a shambles and I've only just noticed it?

I guess the debate on this thread has got a bit more heated than I'd expected. However this IS a subject worth debating ... and after all this is a discussion forum ... for the very reason that it was Wilkins' sacking that directly led us to being where we are now - in big relegation trouble.

If he had wanted to build a team around Dean Hammond, then I think he got it about spot on. Have we had a midfielder since who is up to his standard and who was able to score as many goals? Our midfield has been pretty woeful this season with a real surfeit of goals from that area. And frankly he is probably one of the comparatively few Albion players who has moved on and been a success.

Wilkins knew how to put midfielders together and make it work which is something Adams never managed with all the midfielders signed & used.

Please do not get me to talk about my feelings about this again.

Because, I suspect, nobody does know.

But you have said YOU do know, however are not prepared to share this information on NSC.

And you have still not replied to the question as to why if Wilkins behaviour was so 'appalling' (your words) he was still considered as being suitable to be offered the job of first team coach.

Until DK or someone else from within the club comes out and tells us what this 'appalling' behaviour was, the debate will rumble on.

Exactly. There are people "in the know" that CAN end this debate once and for all, and choose not to.

I said no such thing.

I have just not elaborated on my phrase 'appalling behaviour'. That, in itself, may or may not have got him the sack - I just don't know. If - IF - it did, I could see why.

I can see I might need to temper 'appalling' with, say, 'behaviour giving cause for deep concern'. (My phrase, not anyone else's)

I busybodied myself to find out what happened, and I still did not get the complete story. All I have been told is that it was as a result of the irretrievable breakdown of relationship between manager and Board, which, as a phrase goes, is pretty banal - like 'no shit Sherlock'. The EXACT reasons how this all came about are not known to me.

As regards why he was offered the job of first team coach, and this is where I am speculating big time, I would imagine it was (a) because his coaching skills were still in demand and (b) he would not have been in the same position of authority to continue that which I had been told about. But that is speculation. Other than that, don't know.

A> If by "busy-bodied" you mean you asked around at the Club, then surely if they told you (a regular punter, if you are indeed such) then it must be information that is acceptable to tell all regular punters? Thus no reason not to tell us what was passed on to you?

B> Do you really mean breakdown between Manager and Club? Which would suggest Dean Wilkins vs. Everyone?

Or just Dean Wilkins Vs. Dick Knight?

We have STILL not been given a good reason for his sacking.

Why SHOULD we no though? Is it really our business? If for some reason I was a fan of my local co-op and they sacked the manager and didn't tell me why thats fair enough. Maybe its a private matter between the two they don't wish to air in public? Its not facebook! :p

It's an outrage that the man who took us to 18th two seasons ago is still unemployed, are all club chairmen THICK or sumthing?

To make me even more upset, some person who is probably a paedophile, or a migrant worker, or BOTH, has set up a SICK website about the people's Essex princess, utter BASTARDS. Whatever you do, do not go to

www.isjadegoodydeadyet.com

Your still in are prayers darlin x

The club isn't necessarily a closed shop. They do talk to people outside its immediate circle. It's not a case of hassling people, demanding answers, getting irate etc. It's the odd conversation here, a snippet there, and a picture builds up. And in this instance, I feel it's not a picture that's being carefully manipulated either.

B> Do you really mean breakdown between Manager and Club? Which would suggest Dean Wilkins vs. Everyone?

Or just Dean Wilkins Vs. Dick Knight?

Not sure. The latter would sound most feasible.

I hate when people compare the club to other companies. The comparison doesn't work at all.

We have a right to know how OUR club that WE fund is run when it comes to the REALLY big decisions.

No you don't. What happens behind closed doors between the board and Dean Wilkins is their business, not yours. You pay your money to watch the football, not to be given carte blanche as to every decision made just because you are nosey.

If Dean Wilkins wanted to say something to the press, he would have done so by now, he has chosen not to, and we should respect his dignified silence, far more dignified than 99% of what is posted on here.
