Everyone has a right to an opinion, Lezzer.
Its just when they start presenting their views as FACT, when they don;t actually carry any personal experience on the matter.

I agree with you to certain extent easy and to be honest I haven't read all the thread (really can't be arsed), but two comments I did see were people saying to Nibble if he didn't have kids then how can he have an opinion? That's kind of like saying how can you have an opinion on politics when you're not a politician.

Les, I just think that the reality of having kids can be different to what people often imagine. I'm not saying people can't have an opinion, but I think it's much easier to add some weight to an argument with some "hands-on" (probably bad choice of phrase!) experience. I guess this applies to any topic.

Naughty step works for us with the junior Stenno's or a favourite thing being taken away for a set period. My daughter (just coming up for 5 years) knows she gets three chances and if she's not stopped what she's doing/apologised/done what she's been asked by the third count, then she is punished by one of the aforementioned. Obviously, if you're out and about, you need to be a bit more creative with the naughty step scenario!!!

In my experience, having kids seems to involve a certain amount of lies, deception, threats (mostly empty if truth be told) and bribery!!!

I can tell you that Nibble will not be reading this as he is at home with man flu.

But can I just say, why do so many parents on here think that if someone doesn't have kids they have no right to an opinion on how kids should be bought up?

This topic shouldn't really be of interest to you unless you obviously intend going down the gay adoption route then fair enough.

Now you see I think thats still being a little harsh.

I think having kids changes your perspective, not always for the best but nevertheless it is a stressful job not always understood by people without kids.

don't stop your opinion being valid though. As you put - in slightly different terms - we all have an opinion on the Brighton team and none of us is the manager. Not even Ernest.

Falmer, soon...
All I remember about being an evil little kid was that when I got hit, although it did upset me a bit, I was gonna make damn sure it upset my parents more, either through more extreme behaviour or kicking off about them smacking me.

As such, I'm going to try to avoid hitting any kids i might ever have. It doesn't strike me as a rational thing to do. However in the heat of the moment, who knows?
