Legend eh! Was he a legend the last time we were in this division. How much of a fight did this legend put up to stay with this club.

He has no allegiance with us. We are just a previous employer at the bottom of his cv. A couple of more transfers and we won't be on it. Do you all have a desire to go back to that job where you were happy but got pennys for doing it?

BZ is in it for BZ not BHA.

I'm glad i'm in the West Ham end cos i can slag him off when he's playing true to form and not putting the effort in and goin into a sulk when Cullip has him in his pocket. Hopefully El Abd will give him a quality leg warmer early on and he'll go into to hiding............ just like the good ol' days.

One thing is for certain he is in the past and you need to realise that. If he came back to us he would still be the talented but lazy goalscorer he was before. But he aint ever coming back cos he sees us as a step back now. Now there's where his heart is.

Wow what a constructive response. The word legend is over used by those who do not look at the whole picture. BZ is a talented striker at the lower levels. But remember we had a decent team behind him. Are they all legends as well.

Shame in those good ol' days i never wore those BZ tinted glasses but i don't regret it. At least i appreciate what those not deemed to be legends achieved.... and they are still with the club. I think loyalty is a better quality than being a legend at a lower level.

Although I do not agree with what the guy said, not sure what right you have got to call him a twat. Put an argument up fine, but do not hide behind your keyboard shouting insults at people.

what he just said about BZ is completely shit.

It is his opinion. Bobby was the talisman for that side and scored the goals. But how important was Brooker to it and how many of those goals were down to the fact that Watson used to play that early free kick to Zamora.

I think you should be careful about having a go at people for talking shite, as well.

Thank you for showing some common sense. BZ was put through by Chippy enough times and those nod ons from corners by Danny led to BZ buddling it in at the back. Both those players have seen us through thick and thin and are still giving 100%. DC could've flown the nest on more than one occassion but is still here giving100%. I think that deserves the legend status rather than someone who went when the going got tough.

I think St Lenny has made a point in a reasonable manner and deserves a response rather than abuse. However if I was going to West Ham I would applaud him (before the match) until my hands ached simply because of what he did for us. Yes it went a bit sour at the end but like Horton and Case he deserves to have his achievments remembered; I hate it when players/managers are vilified by the fans who used to idolise them simply because they've moved on.

PS - Hopefully we'll stuff WHU and then everyone can sing: "You should have stayed with a big club!"

Didn't DC go on the transfer list at his own request?
No offers came in so he agreed to stay with us.

I thought he went on the transfer list at Alan Cork's request. And then no offers came in from Corky/Cardiff City.

Allegedly.

He was just throwing his dummy out of the pram, he signed an extension to his contract didn't he? or are you suggesting that by wanting to make a statement he is Judas. Still giving 100% for the Albion that's what counts in my book. Not giving 90% when he feels like it and then naffing off. That's the sort of thing that lehgends are made of so i'm being told.

And Smith Did Score!
Given Bobby's lack of celebration and the look on his face when he scored for West Ham the other week .. and he was Man of the Match... I can see a wild celebration if he were to score against us.

A low key Henrik Larsson style walk back to the half way would be my expectation too.

Any way we're gonna win 2-0 but I'd take 2-2. ;) :lolol:

When the ball hits the net...

I think it is a disgrace that you could even consider booing a player who has done so much for us, would we be here in the championship now without zamora? i doubt it, I am sure that Bobby won't be celebrating if he were to score against us and I sincerely hope that us Brighton fans can refrain from giving him any stick.

This is one of the most confused threads I've read in a long time.

Firslty, and I don't care if it's a Crystal Palace born and bred striker playing for Palace against us in a playoff final, if someone plays good football for the opposition perhaps I wouldn't stand up and applaud conceding the goal, no, but I wouldn't boo him. What are you an 8 year old at Crimbo Panto?

Secondly, if it's Bobby Zamora why on earth would you boo him? You think a boo is going to put off a professional footballer? Almost as much as that irritating murmuring when the opposition keeper takes a goal kick 'ahhhhh your shiii...' etc. You hear kids and grown men recite that almost unconsciously like zombies.

You know I hate rugby, for many reasons, and I love the humour and the atmosphere you only get with football. Sometimes when I read threads like this I think as football fans we get the bad reputation we sometimes deserve as knuckle draggging hooligans. It's poetry played out by artists. Some of them true genuis, some of them aspiring, some of the clod hoppers. If you want to say boo then book a ticket to see John Inman appearing at a civi centre near you this Christmas..

Can't see why any person with half a brain would be boo him. Without his special talent there is no way that a hard-working but limited Albion side would have got into Div 1 back in 2002, and possibly would not have been promoted from Div 3 the previous season. Also surely booing him would only fire him up and motivate him to score against us, as well as deterring him from the distant possibility (if we ever had the money) of coming back. In our position we need all the friends we can get in football so why antagonise him.
