Just trying to bring this back on track.

The father of Stephen Lawrence was I believe a painter and decorator and was doing work for a senior reporter at the Mail when the police investigation failed.

Before the Mail got involved, they ran a full check on Lawrence and family. They checked for drug connections and everything - as we know, papers are better at investigating than the police are!

The paper found nothing - not one jot of anything negative. They did find an awful lot of police failings though.

For the Mail to run this story which lets face it, would not sit comfortably with some of their readers - they had to be really sure.

It would seem that it used to be one rare bad apple in the police - unfortunately, those apples are growing in number.

The fact that the McPherson inquiry found institutional racism in the Met was no shock, even to a Mail reader.

However, the fact police claim today to have known of the links between the Detective and the family of one of the suspects, Is. They never mentioned it at the McPherson sessions.

They appear to be institutional obstructers as well as racists!

I didnt realise before but Rochester Road is where 5 members of my family live meaning it is highly likely the killers ran past their house whilst running away from the scene, came as a bit of a shock seeing their road on that map on the programme!

I must admit though having not read about the case in great detail but just going on what was shown in the programme tonight and a few articles I have read there is no evidence to prove beyond reasonable doubt that these people murdered Stephen Lawrence, there may have been evidence that would have proved this but it seems the vital few days after the investigation were wasted which gave them time to dispose of any evidence. Someone surely cannot be found guilty of murder just because they show inconsistancies in their statement.

Very true, you would be a good lawyer. I don't see how they can ever turn back the clocks and bring these men to justice. I have no doubt in my mind that they are the killers.
