Sheff Wed v Leeds

you never mentioned Leeds or Southend, you mentioned Brentford (don't know when) Hereford (1997?) Chesterfield (2000?) and Orient (at the Goldstone? so must have been pre 1997)

I'm neither blind nor one eyed, I actually see your point and agree with it to a degree, but to compare The Albion's past incidents with Leeds just doesn't hold water, This is an internet message board you're gonna get 'Joan Calder' sound-a-likes kicking off because they've never farted in the bath, it goes with the turf. I'd wager money there are Millwall fans "outraged" by Leeds behaviour and god knows what Sheffield Wednesday are spouting on their forum despite that fact they can be a horrible buch of fuckers themselves

I think the banana throwing incident was v Doncaster not long after their players had paraded a banner saluting Brighton fans

Yes I'd agree with much of that, as that is more balanced. Banana was Donny at home. However you implied Brighton have not caused trouble since "the bad old days" which is clearly wrong as last season and the season before last showed.

Brighton have and always have had a large element, which is no surprise given the large catchment area. Nobody liked what the Leeds fan did, but we just cannot with a serious face call Leeds all sorts as they will simply have a simple reply which has no answer, Brighton v Orient, Ray Wilkins, Goldstone Ground.

On a lighter side, Tony Adams was pelted with carrots

Whether the above is true or not (and I'm not saying it isn't) the I 'd think the same of any Albion fan who carried such behaviour out as I do of the Leeds fans last night.

Mate, it was national news and people were calling for Brighton to be thrown out of the league. I expect its on the internet somewhere. Nobody condones what a couple of people did, point is tho that you cant say "brighton wouldnt do that" because Brighton did.

Brighton
In fairness to warnock, he has rescinded his comments about kirkland going down (on an interview with ssn earlier this morning). He claims he didn't see it and was going by what someone else told him, but now he has seen it he understands why Kirkland went down and that he wouldn't go down for no reason.

Re: Dirty Dirty Leeds...... [includes video of Kirkland getting hit by Leeds fan]

Its you that said that. Ive just pointed out that Brighton are in a very flimsy glass house on this issue. Why you cant see that is very odd unless you have only ever seen Brighton play at The Amex. Brighton punched an Orient player, brighton have also caused trouble all over the place, including west ham last year, and stabbed a southend fan the year before last. I bet they will cause trouble again this year. Glass houses my friend, glass houses. I expect Ray Wilkins would have a wry smile on his face at some of the "we wouldnt do that at Brighton" comments on this site and might point a few to a particular incident at the goldstone.

Are you a parrot?

Fwiw, I agree with you, that some Brighton fans are no angels.

Brighton did hit an Orient player and that was mid 90's, after the real bad days of trouble.

You need to brush up on your history about the Albion's troubles.

Mate, I assume you are reading my post wrongly by mistake. I obviously was referring o trouble at games being worse in the 70s and 80s than in the mid 1990s. I was not referring to "the troubles" at the Albion.

Strewth, the stick you get when stating the bloody obvious. Brighton fans attacked an orient player so maybe a few need to think on that before getting on a high horse.

just like they might think about there being a Travellers camp within walking distance of The Amex before calling other fans "Pikeys" as its as daft as germans moaning that the Italians were a bit right wing in the 1930s and 1940s.

ah ok......tbh I'd expect from Brighton as much as any club, although the city as a whole and the club seems to generate a very easygoing atmosphere every club has it's knuckle-dragging fuckwits, the real problem is locating them and banning from ever attending football again.

If this was Brighton it would be just one rogue idiot but because its Leeds we're all scum?

Well Brighton fans don't have a reputation overseas you see.

O/S football fans associate Leeds fans as being scumbags due to the actions which appear in the wider media.

So you've done enough over the years to project such a widely held view.

yep, and i go to the church several times a week....the area (especially the green to the north) is a regular hang out for brightons homeless/addicts/both which i guess is an overflow from the level

not really sure what can be done to sort that area out really, it seems to be condemned for eternity as "a bit of a shithole"....can't see how whacking a few flowerbeds in and doing up the skatepark on the level is going to help really...
