Would have been man of the match at the weekend had it not been for Healy. He was brilliant at the start of the season, that had a few weeks of wobbles but is in absolutely blinding form now. We've not had a left back like him since Harte (the younger version, not the slower to turn than the QE2 one).

The guy is class although reading NSC you would be forgiven for believing he was the worst player ever to play at LB for the Albion.

I always though Harding looked quite good playing for the England U21's.

My opinion on this is that this was because he was playing with better quality team mates who mostly do the right thing on and off the ball and make it easier to pass to and receive from.

Anyway, the more he plays the more we get so it's good he's doing well

I think he provokes the same type of reaction here as Smith does on a Leeds board.

I've been well impressed with Harding, he's been taking lessons from Gregan and is now body charging everyone all over the place, his positioning is almost always spot on and he likes to get forward behind Lewis (who often goes off daydreaming and Harding is left to cover for him as well as his own LB slot) He's made a few really good crosses into the box recently and is still young so hopefully he'll carry on improving. Only bad thing would have been his handball and the penalty he conceded at Southampon, but the last 20 minutes of that game cancel out the previous 70 so all is forgiven!

He was not the worst, but he was not class with us.

How the memory of his efforts has obviously faded.

Fair play to him if he cracks it at Leeds where his load is probably a bit lighter. He had a lot more defending to do with us and was lightweight, had poor concentration and made a lot of key mistakes that led to goals.

You omit to mention that he also put in a fair number of goal saving tackles in the box and was quick enough to recover from some of his mistakes. Yes he was raw and a bit lightweight but you'd have to be blind or very biased not to have seen the potential.

People just didnt like him - Robinson is Raw and a lot more lightweight than Harding and he is in a postion where its more important not to be lightweight, but he doesnt get half the crap that Harding did.
Id know which one out of the two id rather have and he is at Leeds

Why are Brighton fans so anti ex players who have left the club?

Watsons shit, Cullips shit, Hardings shit......etc etc

At the end of the day these players have moved on...gone. They are not going to come back and frankly who really cares?

Speaking to supporters of other clubs I work with, dont really have this attitude.

Its very strange

It is a shame. Plus some people don't like many of our current crop. Anyone who put the effort in, whilst wearing the stripes is fondly remembered in my book.

Wasn't there that fella who was got on a free and then sold for £100,000 a few weeks later without ever playing? What happened to him?

Because some people need to take a good look at the club and realise its not as big as they think.

Personally I quite like Harding, he was after all indirectly responsible for all 3 goals we got at Elland Road this season.

I thought he looked good at times, but also lack any real positional sense for use (which can be excused in a young player). I think he will go a long way in his career, and needed a move from us.

I think the point that he is playing for a club that is stronger all over the field is a good one, which allows him to get forward more (always the stronger aspect of his game while at the Albion)

Good luck to him, all the more money for us!

went to hibs

That was a truly weird piece of business, he seemed to be with us for 1 week, don't know if he even played a friendly for us then went for a profit of £100,000 I believe.???

Played a friendly at Lewes, didn't look anything amazing, sold pretty much two days later.

Still, we kept hold of Mickey Bennett and thank God for that. :sarcastic face:

wherever the money is
One of our most important sales ( also to Leeds ) was Mark Beeney for I believe £800k. The money Howard Wilkinson gave us for him kept us in business and I honestly believe there would have been no Albion any more if we had not made that sale.

Think that is probably THE most important sale in Albion history
