I think the five monthly option is good but after the football we had to endure last season AND the financial climate now the club should have reduced the prices

The ticket situation at Brighton relies on those in charge realising prices have been far too high for shite facilities for far too long (for all the 'special' circumstances we are only too familar with), and pledging to bring them down to a more reasonable level as soon as possible.

To my knowledge, no one has done this, and a freeze isn't good enough. I fear therefore prices will never come down from their current elevated levels, even at Falmer - which, with a ground to fill, would be bonkers.

Even die-hard fans (hardly neutral observers) think it isn't value for money. So it can't be.

Enough people see it as value for money - that's why they won't bring the prices down. If supporters felt that strongly about it and really couldn't afford it, they should vote with their feet and the club would have to take notice.

But they aren't going to do that.

It's a blind love thing. Everyone knows that it is no way what-so-ever value for money, but it is the Albion so we pay it anyway. Its just the way it is.

Its like a household chore, you do your ironing, your washing up, you go to the Albion and you cook dinner!

.

They have been. We reckon we're a big club. We're getting 5,000.

The payment over 5 installments must be pushing £500, last year the 3 installment option was £475.

5 installments is probably the one that restricts open wallet surgery on peoples finances, but £500 is a ridiculous amount to pay. Surely it wont go over that, otherwise season ticket sales could be quite low

I think Charlton seats in the corner you could get for just under £300 with an earlybird discount. They go up to about £450 at the sides, my mate says when the crowds are low he just goes around to the more expensive seats.

I think it is poor of the club not to offer some token jesture to people struggling with money at present. A small discount or offer of free cup tickets.

The new ticketing system will obviously cost and this needs paying for. I reckon they are hoping for a new season Slade bounce and hope we start well to get bums on seats.

NSC Ticket Exchange; normally £10ish = Season ticket for £230
However, please don't all do this, else I'll never get a ticket!

Obviously not enough then because the club can afford to keep prices the same.

When we get Falmer, attendances will rocket regardless of the price.

Wycome is the cheapest I have seen in our league so far £235 for the terrace behind the goal, with under 12's getting free season tickets, again on an early bird discount. They go up to £400 plus, but free admission to pre season friendlys.

I will always buy one (if I can aford it), however when I purchased 3 year season tickets I felt it offered me little else bar the knowledge I was helping out the club in difficult times.

The club has running costs that have nothing to do with the quality of the football. If prices were based purely on the quality of the football there would have been plenty of times over the years when prices should have been reduced dramatically. Doesn't help run an efficient business though, does it?

If value-for-money came into my decision to buy a ST, there are many years in the past 40 when I wouldn't have bought one at all. But, in that case, the only loser would have been me because I would be missing watching my team. The quality of the football is very much secondary.

It's not like buying a fridge or a car.

I would imagine part of the reason for no decrease is because there are a significant number of fans on 2yr & 3yr ST deals which still have one more year to run.

I would guess next year (for the final season at Withdean) we might actually see a decrease...

...unless of course we get promoted!

I just don't think the club can justify asking fans to fork out £400 plus for this standard of football anymore.

It just seems the rules of supply and demand do not apply in Brighton.

Club runs at an accumulated loss of £11 Million +, you say reduce income by 20-25%. You're not a banker are you. I said Banker.

New Stadium being built to regenerate the club-Morris says he wants a discount or he might not renew his Season Ticket. Tell you what-don't bother then.

You also said "Hardly taking into accounr the economic climate or poor value for money of last season". What the hell has last season's performance got to do with next season's pricing? If we want to progress next season it has to be funded from somewhere.

You people moaning because ticket prices didn't drop by £150 please explain to me how the club is supposed to survive, improve the squad and performances AND build a new stadium if we reduce ticket prices. It's what we all want, survival, improvement and Falmer-it all needs paying for.

We have been at Withdean 10 years now-EVERY Albion fan should know why the prices are as they are. We can't be compared to other clubs' pricing structures because they don't have the same set of circumstances as us. It's no use moaning about it-we're stuck with the prices for 2 more years. If the price is too high for you-don't renew. Simple! Just don't come on here moaning when the club says we don't have any more money for new players.

I'm a STH and would love it if prices were lower-however, I know why they can't be.
