Seaon ticket price FREEZE then

Good to see a modern ticketing system is being introduced.

The facility I want in particular is this:-

Bring a Friend

Are you a Seasoncard holder who wants to bring a friend to a home game? All you need to do is let us know and we will be able to relocate you to another seat in the Stadium so that you can sit with your friend(s) for that game.

Your Seasoncard will be cancelled for the game in question and you will be issued with new tickets where you can sit together (any loyalty points requirements will still apply).

For the following game, you just carry on using your Seasoncard as normal.

That's from the Manchester City site, where they use the same software suppliers as the Albion have signed up with.

With a decent amount of away games next year, I'll be doing a 50/50 mix of home and away games I think, 1 STH lost!

can i just ask are you a sth and will you be paying the price? just your keen to defend the prices but you havent mentioned if you will be putting your hand in your pocket

I still play football and cricket on Saturdays during the season so it is not worth it for me. I buy the odd match tickets for free Saturdays and Tuesdays. If I were to stop playing football and cricket tomorrow, I can honestly say hand on heart that I would.

I think the five monthly option is good but after the football we had to endure last season AND the financial climate now the club should have reduced the prices

I blame Wikins for that

Is this the same season card used by a lot of my friends at the Emirates. It helps cut down on touted tickets as you need it to get into all the games. So if you miss a match you are only likely to pass it on to close friends and familys who you know will give it back.

But it will be good for people to be able to pick their seats on line, do you reckon you could change you seat for everygame on this method.

The last 6 games of the season has saved the club the loss of more than a 1,000 season ticket sales imo. I think the uptake will be slower than last year that was boosted with the Adams hype but if we buy a few decent players in the close season and start well I can see an overall increase in season ticket sales by mid September.

If I was renewing I'd wait and see what transpires between now and early season and suffer the loss of the early bird price because if next season is even slightly comparable to the last one I might kill myself for spunking money on a season ticket

Club runs at an accumulated loss of £11 Million +, you say reduce income by 20-25%. You're not a banker are you. I said Banker.

New Stadium being built to regenerate the club-Morris says he wants a discount or he might not renew his Season Ticket. Tell you what-don't bother then.

You also said "Hardly taking into accounr the economic climate or poor value for money of last season". What the hell has last season's performance got to do with next season's pricing? If we want to progress next season it has to be funded from somewhere.

You people moaning because ticket prices didn't drop by £150 please explain to me how the club is supposed to survive, improve the squad and performances AND build a new stadium if we reduce ticket prices. It's what we all want, survival, improvement and Falmer-it all needs paying for.

We have been at Withdean 10 years now-EVERY Albion fan should know why the prices are as they are. We can't be compared to other clubs' pricing structures because they don't have the same set of circumstances as us. It's no use moaning about it-we're stuck with the prices for 2 more years. If the price is too high for you-don't renew. Simple! Just don't come on here moaning when the club says we don't have any more money for new players.

I'm a STH and would love it if prices were lower-however, I know why they can't be.

Spot on, but I fear there are many who simply don't want to know the facts because they don't suit their agenda.

Absolutely. Knotty has also hit the nail on the head. The reason thsi club is still running and we are able to fork out £150k and £300k on new players is because it is being run sensibly and this sensibility stretches to the pricing of Season tickets.

I possibly won't.

However, it is not as simple as that is it. If a lot of people decide they can no longer justify this expenditure, the club loses out.

Correct me if I'm wrong but weren't you going to return or refuse to buy one last season because of Wilkinsgate? Idle threat or did I get it wrong?

and now you're off again

Not an idle threat at all. Yes I was. I asked the club to cancel my application. I then got invited to coffee by Ken Brown, but sadly could not make it.

He instead sent me a lengthy email explaining why the club was optimistic for the coming season and how much they valued the supporters.

I therefore made the decision to keep the ticket and very much appreciated Ken's personal touch.

Does anyone know how our prices compare to other clubs in League 1?

these are the leeds prices. the first figure is the early renewal price and the later the first time buyer or later buyer one.

2008/09 prices
north stand adult: £410/£450 junior : £180/£180
family area adult: £385/£420 junior : £150/£150

2009/10
north stand adult: £391/£465 junior : £166/£186
family stand adult: £367/£431 junior : £137/ £157

Season ticket sales will probably raise about £1.5million. But how quickly that is may effect the transfer budget?

Cant remember how many season ticket holders there are,
- some have 2 year tickets,
- a lot of people wont have the money to buy theirs before the early bird deadline. But it does mean the club will get a £50ish mark up on tickets not taken in time but are still bought
- Also, with the economic climate as it is, it would seem a lot of people will go for the 5 monthly installement option, meaning less cash upfront for the club, but more money over a sustained amount of time

We (the company I work for) put our prices up in December by an average of 7% across our range of products.

Customers had a moan until it was explained to them that our prices had risen because in order for us as a company to continue being there when they needed us an increase was necessary because our costs had risen significantly.

A recession does not necessarily mean prices HAVE to drop. In fact the opposite is often the case-do you think The Albion's operating costs have dropped because of "the recession"?

Don't get me wrong-I would love my ST price to drop but it never will. I have 2 choices: pay up or cancel. You have the same choices.

Meopham, Kent.
So, as the season goes along they look at the empty seats and introduce offers, for the week-to-week punter, but when the renewals come round for the loyal, pay up front, STH, they take our continued support for granted, and FREEZE the already very high season ticket prices.

Sorry, but that's my season ticket money lost. I'm far better going when I fancy it, and not when I don't, without the hassle of trying to sell (that's a joke!) my ticket. If my son wants to come with me, I can get an extra ticket easily. I can sit in teh family stand and his ticket is 50p, I can get the cheap extra ticket through a STH when those games come around, and I can wave goodbye to the mad rush, and long evening of midweek games (I live and work in North Kent).

I see no advantage in buying a ST, that comes even close to justifying the expense. I'll still make plenty of games next season, home and away, I'll have greater flexibility, and I have a strong suspicion it will cost me significantly LESS.
