Is he by any chance hinting that Russia has a debt crisis?

The paper linked below, - may - constitute the guts of the peace deal put to Russia and Ukraine. Kellogg co-authored it in April, and has since been appointed as envoy.
A lot could still happen of course. I have only skim-read it.

I suspect Trump thinks he’s gonna be able to “art of the deal” peace in Ukraine. He’ll offer up the deal of Russia keeping Donbas and Crimea. Threaten Zelensky with complete withdrawal of US aid if he doesn’t accept. Maybe threaten Putin with NATO involvement if he doesn’t accept on his end.

Both Zelensky and Putin will tell him to get bent and it’ll be another one for the gigantic broken promises pile.

Yep. Can't see Ukraine ceding territory and quite frankly, why the f*** should they? If Putin gets to keep what he stole, there'll be no lasting peace.

On YouTube, a few people (Jake Broe, Mark Biernot) are suggesting that something has happened in Russia. Something that we don't know about. Jake Broe says that the steep fall in the ruble is insiders telling other insiders to get their money out.
Ruble moving in the wrong direction this am (for Russia that is - chuckle, titter).

I've now read the AFPI paper...it took a while. Lots of information in there that we knew, and additional things, that possibly were known but I'd forgotten.
Anyway, I did find it very interesting. I couldn't agree with all of it because of it's slant of course, but the positions they take are argued in detail.
Some things completely omitted: e.g. it is very well known that Russia committed atrocity after atrocity after atrocity in areas they occupied/ occupy, and yet the authors totally criticize Biden for calling Putin a war criminal...🤷🏼‍♂️.
Thank you for posting, it was my time well spent reading it.

I've not read it yet in any detail so I won't comment on the content.

At first glance, it's length suggests they've taken it seriously, and they've been thinking about it for a good six months dating back to at least last March/April. From this I take it that they are unlikely to materially change their minds at this stage, so this is probably what the peace deal will look like.

Last week 2 important under sea communication cables in baltic sea were cut, today, Denmark, one of the biggest and most vocal suporters of Ukraine........ Coincidence? (If this is Putin? are the west going to finally call Article 5 on what are terrorist attacks on NATO member?)

"Denmark's largest mobile phone network is offline, including emergency call options. The Danish railway is also out of service, trains are standing around the country. The causes are still unclear."

It appears that not all Russians are being fooled. Good for this lass anyway - hope the security services can't identify her!

A very astute young lady. But that video is 18 months old. It was filmed in Moscow in May 2023.

It has added poignancy when you consider she is probably no longer with us.

Having friends in Ukraine gave her an advantage, her predictions now seem uncanny. Killing civilians, taxes going up, prices going up, cannon fodder, officials won't care, people leaving, but the elite will be OK.

Many Russians would not have had the insight to give such glimpses into the future. Others still won't have the capacity to get their heads round it even when this is all over, and they are confronted with the post-war reality.

Sadly they will feel partially responsible believing that they elected Putin in fair elections.

"withdrawing weapons from Ukraine if it doesn’t enter peace talks – and giving even more weapons to Ukraine if Russia doesn’t do the same."

Which just means they'll both enter peace talks, nothing more.

And Zelenskyy should refuse that deal. Russia cannot keep going as they are forever. If the US really wants to be on the side of an evil dictator, as opposed to democracy, so be it.

Maybe threaten Putin with NATO involvement if he doesn’t accept on his end.

Trump can threated US involvement, but he doesn't speak for all of NATO
