Multiple channels reporting a massive Russian troop convoy being rushed to the Kursk front has been obliterated by Ukraine overnight.

Up to 500 dead/wounded and one of the biggest single troop hits in the war.

Don't want to feel glee at young conscripts having their lives cut short, but f**k me, thats a big bloody hit.

Something at some point has to finally get into Putin's thick head that he finally has to abandon has foolish invasion.

It will only get worse for Russia each day.
Last week Putin could've ordered all of his troops home and in an instant ended the "special military operation" and claim it a success (of course he wouldn't).

Today he can't even do that with Ukraine occupying an expanding swathe of Russian territory.

That's brilliant news, have to say I'm very happy about it.
One of the suggestions in the two attachments to @peterward 's original post...was that this could be one aim of Ukraine... to get Russia to rush conveys to the area, then destroy them in the open.👍

The best news would be if Russia withdrew from this totally unnecessary war. Short of that, unfortunately we have to celebrate little victories like this. Dead Russian soldiers means fewer dead Ukrainian civilians and soldiers.

While it is a military win for Ukraine in terms of pushing back against incursions in other parts of Ukraine (and note with appreciation your qualifying comments about the dead) these scenes of piles of dead young Russian men are frankly tragic and breaks my humanitarian heart - Putin is an absolute **** for propagating the belief in these kids that the War on Ukraine is justified or if that fails, making them serve under the threat of execution if they don’t follow orders.

This war is exacting an extortionate cost on both sides

‘For Russia, beyond the attempts to benefit a small elite, the impact on its own military is appalling. Throughout April 2024, the pattern of Russian casualties followed the pattern we have seen so far throughout this year with an average loss of 899 soldiers per day, bringing Russian total casualties to over 465,000..., not only is this an act of aggression against a sovereign nation, it also is a testament to the contempt in which Putin regards his own people and the lengths to which he is prepared to go.’

I know what you mean.

You want to be triumphant but respectful at the same time. I'm reminded of when we sank the Belgrano in 1982. My mates around me were whooping it up, but I found it difficult to do that. Mixed feelings.
Yeah but that was a powerful nation against an ill-equipped adversary who should never have been there in the first place, whereas today we're talking about a much larger power who are murdering many thousands of innocent people, in the name of grabbing land.

Agreed. ALL of these Russian deaths lie at the feet of Putin.
If the Russian people decided to fight Putinism at home they would have fewer deaths. Unlikely but...
