I think you’re misunderstanding me, perhaps my fault at not being clearer.

Yes I quite understand the need for arms to be supplied and agree with it. My post was more one of sad reflection on how the world just seems to be spiralling into a situation of conflict upon conflict. Aggressors and aggression. It’s sad and scary. Mankind just doesn’t seem to ever learn. Thats what I was perhaps clumsily meaning. Maybe just a sad reflection from an old man.

It worries me too that what started as a Central European issue could potentially escalate more broadly. Putin’s visit to N.Korea will worry S.Korea, Japan and others, likewise his visit to Vietnam (though Vietnam will likely tread a more cautious line). Throw in Cuba, Iran a few African states and you can see how Putin is trying to build an alliance. But it all seems to be a desperate throw of the dice from a desperate man. The world seems to be an increasingly dangerous place - not forgetting too the Middle East.

A possible answer may be found in the replies - they each have an antenna and are placed in a line to triangulate and determine the source, direction and velocity of the drones. A bit like a radio mast but instead a line on the ground. Apparently they nicked it from the US, so we may have to add an infringement of copyright to the war crimes.

They've probably got some desk-based Johnny who said 'Wait'. Let's find out more about about them. Where they are made? Where they are stored before deployment? What types of vehicle are used to transport them from the factory to the storage depot and then on to the front line?

It may be that the photo was taken by a drone that didn't have bombs attached? Either it was a recognisance drone, or was out of ammo? Still, I like my twitter updates to be of exploding Russian things.

It may be that the photo was taken by a drone that didn't have bombs attached? Either it was a recognisance drone, or was out of ammo? Still, I like my twitter updates to be of exploding Russian things.

Genuine question, do these modern warfare drones return to base / get salvaged for re-use or are their missions one-way kamikaze?

Mixture, some are kamikaze, some just drop munitions and return. I think most of the long range ones are kamikaze, all the aquatic ones are Kamikaze.

This is an existential war, for Ukraine, and perhaps, for Russia. It may escalate. NATO cannot afford to carry a nation that has its hand on the brake. Neither can it afford the security risk of a member nation divulging classified information to the enemy.

Yes, all of that. I'm not convinced it will happen though - I feel the West is trying to contain the Hungarian problem but is terrified of driving them even closer to Russia (if that's possible).
