Hurrah for Russian air defence

I like these Russian losses by friendly fire stories, as they're win-wins. They take out Russian kit, no Ukrainians were in danger, they don't use up any Ukrainian ammo, they're bad for Russian morale, and they give us a good laugh.

The only evidence we have that Russia has any air defences, is that they shoot their own aircraft down.

Mrs Nabiullina has become the scapegoat for the Russian interest rate crisis. No surprise really...no one has the balls to blame Putin.

I think that was Eric:

I feel sorry for Elvira Nabiullina, the governor of the central bank. She's a Bashkir, from Bashkortostan.

So the story goes, she wanted to resign when the war broke out. But she wasn't allowed to. Putin wouldn't accept her resignation.

Expect to see her blamed by Putin shortly.

I can see Putin 'persuading' others to do his finger pointing and scapegoating for him for a while. Half the Kremlin could find themselves thrown under the bus.
But at some point, there must be a reckoning. Surely?

I can't see that. It was a very professional hit, right after he'd been found guilty in Ukraine, and Ukraine claimed it shortly afterwards. Those things wouldn't have happened if it wasn't Ukraine.

I'd be very surprised if they've managed to find the culprit that quickly, with probably no evidence.
