Sounds like Russia are planning a little explosion at the nuclear plant tonight as they've preemptively blamed Ukraine already. Ukraine advising citizens living nearby to be ready to leave at short notice.
Is there no end to the Russian madness
on the Ukranian news channels now, theyve just reported that Russia has put mobile radiation detector equipment in Enogadar (where the nuclear power plant is located) and in Mariupol.

I did read today, that a few countries through back channels (including some that are not aligned with West or Ukraine) have warned Russia not to do it.

If Putin does, the response has to be devastating. If it ends up with merely "deeply concerned" language and no action, we may as well just all give up..

Agreed, a response would have to be devastating...or Putin will escalate further when he wants.
I still like to believe that Russia has been warned sufficiently that they won't cause a leak. If they do blow the cooling pond embankments that should also trigger a major response.

Total joke. Albeit unfunny. State propaganda serves a purpose mind, lots of people want to believe it and find it very comforting. Tens of millions, like the Germans post denazification, will continue to believe this horseshit despite exposure to the truth. It’s part of the human condition, what fits with our prejudices etc. You see it repeatedly in documentaries full of old people confronted with their past. Nothing will change their beliefs. Think it’s called bigotry!

You're right, it is their decision alone

But personally knowing Ukrainians after all that's happened, I believe they'd sooner fight with sticks and stones if western support stopped rather than be subjugated by or give in to Russia.

There is simply no peace with Russians on Ukrainain soil in Ukrainian eyes.
This.

I have a friend from the Donbass

He grew up in Chasiv Yar - not far from Bakhmut

In 2014, when his little daughter thought that a small firework display was bombs falling, he knew it was time to go.
Moved his whole family lock stock and barrel to Western Ukraine
He has watched with horror as old friends houses, his old school and his old house have turned to rubble. And he has watched as friends have died.

He does not want any form of negotiated settlement - speaks Russian and Ukrainian but hates the evil empire - the orcs.

The West should be doing more to help help the Ukrainians take back what is there own.
Otherwise we ultimately risk Ukraine becoming a 1938 Czechoslovakia.

Slava Ukraini 🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦

Really good, thanks. His analysis pulling together the tactics and purpose of strikes...is very helpful 01225 742028
If you watch daily, you'll see better the evolving picture..... look like Ukraine is trying to spread them wide and thin, get them to pull up reserves and hit them?

I will try to watch daily - much better than a scatter gun of updates. Not sure why my GP's phone number got appended to my message ... that's a 'paste' command out of control 🤦‍♂️
Starting to look like a decent chance of encircling some Russians at Bakhmut...if the map is realistic 🤞

I'll give your GP a call and see what they reckon about Bakhmut!

Pretty cool video of the prep work and the firework display in Makivka (Donetsk yesterday), looks like Ukraine found all the stored Russian artillery shells including Phosphorus hidden in the centre of an un built apartment complex, call that through to the HIMARs operators who put on a lovely 4th of July display with a nice precision strike!
