As crazy as this may seem right now, and you're right that pro Trump media will try and spin it, this could......could just be a blessing in disguise.

The MAGA crowd are already pro Russian anti Ukraine, this may make them more fervent in their pro Russian anti Ukrainianism, but I genuinely believe anyone who watches that, whose either leaning pro Ukraine or neutral is going to side with Zelenskyy.

If Zelenskyy popularity goes up and Trumps/JD Vance goes down, and if the majority see it this same way as we do, It may do a lot more reputational damage to Trump than Zelenskyy.

I have no doubt, most level headed US politicians, even on the republican side, will have been aghast themselves.

JD Vance has just made WW3 more likely by attacking Zelenskyy and platforming war criminal Putin and his narratives.

Will those level headed republicans - of which there are many - actually have the f***ing balls to stand up though. I'm not holding my breath - they've largely been f***ing cowards so far

All those close to him know he won't see his term out
Heard this all before last time around. Along with ‘cognitive decline’, ‘early onset dementia’, ‘Parkinson’s’ etc. Just like we were told Putin was dying of cancer when he invaded Ukraine.

Sadly, it’s all propaganda and bullshit that was put out there by Biden’s team in response to the fact that he genuinely was losing it with old age. The orange **** ain’t going anywhere I’m afraid.

I'm afraid there are huge numbers ( in US and elsewhere) who just won't change their position of thinking it's safer to side with Trump 😟

£50 to Albion in the community says he won't see his term out ? And there's plenty on NSC I wouldn't trust with a sportsman's bet

You may be right, but if we think he's losing his marbles, it makes our journey that little bit smoother.

It's time for Europe to step up.

We need to double down on our support for Ukraine.

How can any British person watch that and not side with Ukraine?
Every leader in Europe* could, I reckon, introduce a defence levy tax tomorrow and call it the “Trump tax” to pay for the arming of Ukraine. And people would pay it. The one good thing from today is seeing the remaining Trumpian quislings on this side of the Atlantic either having to row back (Jenrick) or keeping quiet.

*Sensible leaders. Not you, Orban.

No word from Starmer yet, but Europe is coming out firmly behind Ukraine as you’d expect.

Kaja Kallis, EU foreign policy chief:

We will step up our support to Ukraine so that they can continue to fight back the [aggressor]. Today, it became clear that the free world needs a new leader. It’s up to us, Europeans, to take this challenge.

Well said.

In retrospect he probably could have had a translator with him (not for his replies) ...just to slow down the pace.

And, maybe unpopular to say (I know), should he have worn a suit, just to take that issue out of the way 🤔 .
Any decent host would have chosen to understand that he always dresses like that in respect to the war...but he wasn't with any decent host 😟
Translator might have been an idea, as you say to slow the responses down, though those two dim bullies would probably have not let him speak at all.

If he'd worn a suit they would have complained Z should have been in military fatigues as his nation was at war and accused him of cowardice.

It certainly shows opportunistic criticism from both left and right of SKS and Macron not being directly critical of Trump was daft. Even the mild corrections and occasional eye rolls from Z showed just how hair triggered and damaged Trump and Vance are.

In another life they would be the sort of idiots who couldn't drive home without a major road rage incident every other day.

Got to say was exactly what was neeeded from trump . Russia have dominated and hold what they set out too. Could get way worse for Ukraine the moment Russia decide . Does that guy want to save lives

Trump is a nob but he is strong . If only other leaders said it how it is

Expect a media backlash from the easily offended tomorrow
Trump isn't strong, he's a weakling. If he was strong he would stand up to Putin but he's too much of a pussy. Any strength that you perceive he has is by proxy, just as it always has been, and which has always served to help him to hide his fundamental weakness.

Before he became President his inherited wealth helped him to act powerful and hide his weakness. And now he's president it's the strength of America which he tries to present as his own strength but its not, its the strength that his country provides on his behalf and which like his inherited wealth helps him to hide his weakness. There's nothing remotely strong about Trump. He's a f***ing wimp.

He was probably the same at school. He wouldn't have been the school bully as that requires a certain toughness which Trump doesn't have. He would have been the kid who hid behind the school bully and used the bully to hide his own weakness and he's carried that tactic on throughout his entire life, first using his wealth to hide his wimpyness and now using his country.

And now Putin is playing the role of the school bully that Trump remembers idolising at school and Trump is just fitting back into that old familiar, nostalgic role that he was in at school sucking up to and hiding behind the school bully. Its f***ing pathetic. He needs to grow a pair.

The idea that Trump is tough is a total myth. He's a pathetic wimp.

At this point I really want Starmer to come out and tell Trump, Vance, America and all things American to go f*** themselves, and then go f*** themselves some more.

Probably not very helpful, mind
