Well that's an easy one. Let them pull out.

Not sure that'll help the projection of US power.

I imagine it's a pathetic bluff, but even if it's not we have to say no.
Yep, given that Trump seems to want out of NATO anyway, and reduce US defense budget by 50% ,(and trust Russia to do the same 😂😂 =Russian asset or wanker or both), at same time as Europe has to double their defense budgets, I wouldn't trust US NATO troops to do anything anyway if Russia invaded Baltics ("article 5, what's that, nah, it's only a bit of Lithuania, they can defend it themselves..." that's Trump's reaction by the way!), ...where was I, lost my thread, oh yeah, fxck off Trump and your team of spineless flunkies.

Putin has no interest in any fair negotiations. If he thinks he can win (and with Trump's help, he probably does now), then he won't take anything less than the whole of Ukraine. But if we help Ukraine win, and keep sanctions on Russia, eventually even Putin will see that Russia will lose, and then he'll come begging for a deal.
one of my concerns is how long the sanctions regime will remain effective if (as part of a deal with Putin) the US relaxes them

Trump appears of unsound mind and full of lies.
I’m slowing down as I get older and it’s only just occurred to me from where the expression “trumped up” originates
How can you do a deal with someone behaving like a moron, appearing maybe a little deranged, telling lies and who cannot be trusted?
I assume we’re talking of both Trump and Putin here, though you could create quite a long list if you add Lavrov, Musk et Al

If the EU (and us sad wanker 'free and independent' outsiders) double our defense spending, and America halves theirs, why don't we just invade America?

I believe you, but at some point I hope America stands up and says no, we don't want to become like Russia.
I don't see why the current administration would decide this. Trump was hampered in his first term because of nominally traditional Republicans, this time round he's surrounded himself with sycophants, true believers and actual nazis. We're stuck with at least four years of USA being more foe than friend.

Have a look at this.... Will need to hit translate at bottom. It's from Denis Danilov, a prominent Ukrainian political scientist, who

He says a Finnish MEP has said, Trump has advised Europe they have 3 weeks to force Ukraines capitulation to Russia or else US is pulling out of Europe?
Maybe the next time the US wants a tame ally to give them the “halo effect “ for military action in Afghanistan or Iraq, or if they want to use RAF Akrotiri……we should simply tell them to do one

We don’t need to invade, just sail up the Potomac and set fire to the White House again

We’ve done it before, we can do it again.

It doesn't have to be those close to him, and can be all Americans, including many in high office.
