When elections are close it always tends to come down to the swinging voters.

Those middle of the road voters tend not to be swayed by like people like Brand.

But the 400,000 youngsters who signed up on the last day alone ....might.

Why is he, in your opinion, a hypocrite then?

I wonder if when he was chucked out of that award ceremony for having a dig at buying Hugo Boss due to its Nazi related past he had a word with himself as he went home in his Mercedes-Benz.

He is just an all round plank

He's not urging "us" to do anything, but rather his one million subscribers, who are typically under 25 student types - this is a massive coup for Miliband.

It's definitely a better piece of advice than telling his young followers to not to vote at all, the last thing we want is another five years of this despicable conservative government.

It's a coalition government.

Don't you believe it....Russell Brand has a huge student following, many of whom helped the Lib Dems get into a position of power.

Only the foolish would underestimate the impact of this announcement on the 18-24 year olds.

Six now!

Let's see if we can get "irrelevant" Russell to 10 pages by this evening
Surely the question of whether he is irrelevant relates to any possible effect he may have had on the outcome of the election. I would imagine that people branding him irrelevant do so in that vein. That does not make discussing his stance irrelevant to north stand chat. To imply that there is some kind of left wing victory simply because people here are posting about him is specious.

Thanks for that - it's one more step to page 7

I'm not a big fan of Brand, but if a wealthy or influential person is pushing for a fairer society, then this is a really positive thing and it should be celebrated.

Although as one of NSC's resident right-wing nut jobs, I do understand that a fairer society is not something that you want.

The mentality of this is incredible isn't it? Berate Brand for his entirely self-made wealth, yet suck the cock of every rich elitist who espouses right-wing and anti-equality politics.

And they have the bare-arsed cheek to accuse Brand of hypocrisy!

It's an Audi A8.

If people with wealth are demonised and considered hypocrites for expressing socialist views, then God help us all - things will continue to get worse, as they are the ones who can make a real impact.

What I dislike is the implied idea that Brand's views are somehow not worthy. If find this quite arrogant.
