So long as we don't put out a team to lose, like we have done sometimes in cup games.
Well, we usually win the games you say we "put out a team to lose". At the same time, De Zerbi played a super strong starting eleven against League One strugglers Charlton in the League Cup, so there's clearly no magic solution to winning the games.

Yeah that League Cup game with Potter trying out the U21s of the club was not one we thought we'd win. I'll give you that. But thats more than five years ago.

Magic of the cup. Norwich in good form. He's the only youngster that I'd pick
Two centre backs out injured equals exactly that for me. McConville gets a start, the rest of the team needs to be strong.

The other option is to play Veltman alongside Van Hecke. There are now options at right back, including Lamptey and March.
As tempting as it so see Solly as a right back in a four man backline - I hope we sign another RB or CB to avoid it from happening too often..

Igor is out for, reportedly, months. Dunk was out last weekend with a calf strain. Might be questionable for Saturday? Webster back, but has a record of injuries.
Yeah would be very surprised to see Igor again this season. If its a torn hamstring then its at least 3 months, usually 4, and then needs to get back into match fitness.

Thank you both.

It was NOT a strong team. Five years later:

David Button - now 35 and sub keeper for Rea-ea-ea-eading

Shane Duffy (c) - 33, Norwich, will score against us on Saturday

Haydon Roberts - 22, in and out of the Bristol City team, doing fairly well in the Championship

Gaetan Bong - 36, retired

Archie Davies - 26, playing for Carlisle in League 2, out for the season following surgery

Tudor Baluta - 25, plum bottom of the Polish 1st division with Slask Wroclaw, in and out of the team

Teddy Jenks - 22, in the National League with Forest Green Rovers

Alex Cochrane - 24, core player for Birmingham City in League 1

Peter Gwargis - 24, mid-table in the Iraq Stars League with Duhok SC

Aaron Connolly - 24, very bit-part player for Sunderland in the Championship

Taylor Richards - 24, has played 45 minutes total this season for Cambridge Utd at the bottom of League 1

Substitutes

Romaric Yapi - 24, bit-part player for DAC Dunajska Streda in the Slovak first division

Jack Spong - 22, regular for Worthing in National League South

Ryan Longman - 24, bit-part player for Hull City (Tigers) in the Championship

Conversely, Villa started with a team including John McGinn & Douglas Luiz, and brought on Jack Grealish and Jacob Ramsey...
