It could be a very good thing in terms of making the gap between each division smaller, but many think it, along with sky, has ruined the top end of the game, would it be a more even playing field? Or would they just keep on looking after the cream at the top?

Could they be any worse at running it than the league at the moment? half arsed rules that dont really work

A Fulham Season Ticket holder in our office is convinced that figure is made up of mainly add ons that will never be achieved in order for Leeds Chairman to not look like he's selling his prize assets too cheaply.

If there's any truth in that.

That's what I thought.

A loss from funding an academy in advance of the FFP rules being implemented is different in my book than a loss from getting in 10 strikers on loan

Investments on stuff such as stadiums and training facilities doesn't count in the FFP calculations.

Although my guess is that plenty of expenses that would count for the FFP calc from 13/14 season were front loaded into 12/13 season.

Are you seriously suggesting Brighton spent as much as QPR and hence are comparable?

Where have I said that the Albion have spent as much as QPR?

The original comment was that clubs should not spend beyond their means. The Albion haven't done that for decades.

And what % of those losses are due to capital works? I don't recall spending any large sums on players last season.

Last season's accounts haven't been released.

Besides, transfer fees paid affect subsequent seasons' accounts in the form of contract amortisation, and, more importantly, players don't play for free.

Wouldn't surprise if there was some truth in that. I'm always sceptical of reported figures of transfer fees for undisclosed deals. It always seems to be whatever sounds best for each side. Look at Bridcutt with rumours from Sunderland it was 3-3.5m whereas from our end it was rumoured to be closer to 5m. Palace reporting Zaha to Utd was 15m, but as the season went on it started to be reported as closer to 10m

Fulham and Cardiff have got immensely wealthy backers, and are already buying quality players. It wouldn't surprise me at all if they both bounced straight back up. Parachute payments have been upped a lot too to £23m for season 2014/15 alone. That's almost the entire BHA turnover from their one additional income source. Hard to compete against.

The more I see Clubs with parachute payments lashing out millions on players to get back to the promised land the more it F""KS me off !!

Why should a team that is relegated from a division be given stupid amounts for being CRAP !! and for a long period afterwards ???

If we or another team who haven't benefited from this gets up this year it will be a miracle more or less in my opinion

Look at the record for clubs coming down with parachute money and going straight back up in the Top 2

I was aware and did see that percentage earlier in this thread. But parachute monies have been increasing exponentially - my guess would be that the percentage bouncing back up will increase.
