£10m is a bit too much, I'd have had him in the 6-8m bracket myself.

I think if Fulham win the race we'd be in for Hugo Rodallega on a season long loan deal.

Good, it helps them spend their parachute payments quicker. If Ross McCormack was our player I would be rubbing my hands. Just because a club wants to spend £10m plus on a player, plus wages, it doesn't mean they are worth £10m plus.

The job is to find new up and coming players like him in the earlier part of their career.

£11 Million... :wozza:

A Fulham Season Ticket holder in our office is convinced that figure is made up of mainly add ons that will never be achieved in order for Leeds Chairman to not look like he's selling his prize assets too cheaply.

If there's any truth in that.

FFP is still relevant.
As some relegated PL clubs spend far more than the amount gained from having parachute payments, in breach of the rules eg. QPR last season.
It's then over to the regulators / leagues to enforce the rules.

Without FFP, there would be an unchecked spend by all relegated clubs if the owners are prepared to subsidise it, putting clubs like Derby and BHA at an even greater disadvantage.

Ross McCormack (LUFC) 137 apps 53 goals - 0.387 goals/game
Leo Ulloa (BHAFC) 50 apps 23 goals - 0.46 goals/game

There were mugs on here saying "we should bite Leicester's hand off for £3m" or "I'll drive him there myself for £5m"

10 million for Ulloa at least I reckon.

It's also disgusting that despite FFP rules, we have to compete with teams who can splash this much cash. Parachute payments will surely turn the Championship into a two tier league soon. They should be called 'bounce back payments'. I don't see us spending more than £2m in this new FFP era. How can we compete with the likes of Fulham & Norwich? I do admit however that the performances of Burnley, Derby & Leicester make my previous comments look a little spurious but I just think that the money will tell after a while.

Sickening isn't it? parachute payments are there to transition to Championship, not buy more (expensive) players.

We have this every year, no? It won't change all the time the Premier League is a separate organisation to the Football League. Why would they give two hoots about fairness in the Championship when they don't really even care about fairness in their own league?

McCormack is quality at this level but £10m? I guess it depends on whether he gets Fulham promorted or not. As some have said though, gotta means £10m for Ulloa now. Looks like Bloom/Barber/Burke or whomever, did the right thing playing hard ball.

Surely the Football league are the ones to blame on this one? they have brought in rules that are completely worthless, you will get fined if you over spend and get promoted, I bet QPR are well gutted they get 120 million and fined 40

Indeed. Parachute payments really have to be overhauled or we will never get a fair competition in this league.

You could though argue in this case the opposite will happen because for 11m Fulham have got a decent Championship striker. I wouldn't say the signing of McCormack makes them certs to get promoted, or much more so than previous to his signing and yet they've given a Championship rival enough money to, if they spend wisely, but 3 or 4 players that could turn them from amidtable side into one that could compete for promotion.

That is very debatable - apparently over 28 years only 23% of teams bounce back straight away and the percentage goes down after that.
