Thank you, I watch it obsessively. I could watch all episodes from start to finish in a huge marathon!

Did you hear the reference about Slater having to 'walk the plank'?

Also, was one of the girls Del was trying to pull 'Juney'? You know, the one who ended up 'doinking' Alby Littlewood the night he cut across the railway tracks?

Pretty good effort i thought.

Of course if i was deep thinking and sophisticated i would have said it was shit and utter wank..... which it wasn't.

I did think it was going to go further though, with Freddie Robdel blowing himself up and also Joan's death.

Yeah that was hilarious. Her real name was June and yeah she got with Del, but she was seeing Alfie on the quiet, whilst Del was shagging Alfie bird also on the quiet.

My wife and myself thought it was pretty good. The music was a good throwback to the past as well.
It was billed as a comedy drama and Nick Lyndhurst is quoted as saying "...don't expect OFAH canned laughter.."
Too many people expecting/hoping for a carbon copy of the original ??

Hmmm, that could be the problem for some people. Do not think it should have been billed as a comedy drama. I didn't want it to be a comedy anyway.

I must be easily pleased because I really enjoyed it. I liked all the links with OFAH like them being shown the flat and Joan taking Rodney out onto the balcony like Del did with Damien.

I didn't suss that her friend was the Joan Sims character. I bet i missed loads of bits that had relevance. Not meant to be funny like OFAH but enjoyable all the same.

I enjoyed it too and it did have comedy moments, like when Dell was told to use the sink and asking for paper when he came back!

There were quite a bit of detail with the minor characters as well, like the cinema manager and his assistant.

If there was one grip it was trying to work out how old joan was meant to be and at what age would she have had Del?

I quite liked it, there were funny bits in it but as others have said it wasn't about that.

I thought it was very interesting to see the lads trying to mimic some of the characters in OFAH.

Not that this makes a difference but if Rock N Chips would have been a stand alone programme and OFAH had never of existed it would have been pretty pony, but as an OFAH fan I really enjoyed it. Cant wait for the series.

Thought it was alright other than the cinema manager scenes. What was that all about? It was mentioned she worked at the cinema, but thought that was all a bit weird.

Have to admit expecting another Red Dwarf - Back to Reality type scenario, and thought Jay from Inbetweeners was a bumder choice, but he wasn't in it much.

I thought it was a series the way it was done, as it was spending most of the time cross-referencing story-lines and building up the characters. Guess it's a pilot then.

THIS IS A RANT!

This was going to always be a comedy drama, some of you people were expecting the same thing as OFAH. But this was completely different from start to finish. It was never mean't to be all about Del Boy! It was always going to be about his family and them meeting Freddy Robdal! You lot need to watch them all over again and find out comparision with how Rodney is and how Robdal was, they're there watch it again if you don't f***ing believe me. There was even a reference of Pam Smith. If you remember back when Rodders was dating her daughter, and Del thought it was his bloody daughter which it wasn't, it was Alfie Littlewoods daughter. Roy Slater in the pond reference was made, in the "hooky" oven episode. I can carry on if you want me to, because i thought it was BRILLANT!

Rant over!

Spot on Kev.
Personally thought the show was really good.. hope there's more to come.

This show was one for the OFAH officionado. I'm glad they made it and Del's mum was perfectly cast. I also rate Nicholas Lyndhurst as a straight actor, so it was good to see him in a lot of straight scenes.

The details and cross-references were many and varied, I reckon John Sullivan the writer must have re-watched every episode and made notes along the way because as an OFAH nerd I didn't spot any glaring errors.
