Can understand if big club like Juventus or Bayern have come in for him but is of great concern if going because he feels not getting support from Bloom.

I disagree. Bloom has proven (at absolute worst) a trustworthy custodian of the club. He knows where the limits are, he makes a living from it.

If RDZ is asking for more than the club can provide then a parting of the ways is the right decision all round.

I’m filled with confidence. I’ve loved (most of) RDZ’s time here, but managers move on just like players do.

I wish him all the best, he’s a fantastic coach, and I hope he finds an owner he’s more aligned with, just not in the PL.

He’ll lose a lot more if we get relegated, a bit more if we finish down the table and don’t get Europe and be in trouble if we can’t develop our youngsters. A manager like De Zerbi has to be seen in total cost / total income terms.

Unless Bloom has a complete aberration and employs somebody totally incompetent, there's no chance we'll be relegated and I'd be surprised if we finish much lower than we will this season.

Barring the obvious caveats like all our players being sold or us suffering far more injuries than the rest of the league etc.

DeZerbi has been good for us.

He came in as an unknowing quantity and his first season was brilliant, couldn’t have been much better.

But, he seems to believe his own publicity, TB has made another good decision here, so, bye bye Roberto, thanks for the memories.

To be honest, I was more gutted when Coppell went to Reading.

Like it or not, this is the Albion way under Bloom. A coach is not going to get massive stars on big wages to work with: he will have to develop young talent. As with this type of player, Brighton is perhaps a stepping stone for relatively unproven managers to bring their ideas to the biggest league in football.

This is true. I have an inkling though that he might loosen the purse strings a bit one day for a manager who has us going well that he trusts to stick around for a while. Let's face it, De Zerbi's volatility always suggested this would particular relationship would end in tears - and probably sooner rather than later. It's been fun though.

Given the clubs succession mantra - doesn’t everyone expect we will have a new coach in about 48 hours. Bloom/Barber don’t mess around. No way will they have announced this - with a plan to spend the summer interviewing candidates.

I'm not sure its much worse. But it's the continued long injuries that are really worrying. And with heavy rumours gross is off at the end of the season, if we don't hit the ground running next season we are in trouble.

The 3 teams coming up arent gonna be as bad as this season. And who else is left to battle it out for bottom 3 .... Forest and Brentford thats about it.

Sad but far from surprised.

I wanted RDZ to stay on the important proviso that he was committed to the club. His pronouncements since January have been vague at best and results suggest that uncertainty had filtered through to the players.

With that in mind, this is probably the most sensible outcome for all parties and maximises Bloom’s ability to make an appointment in good time for the players’ return to pre-season training.

It’s been a peculiarly muddled season, with the highs of the Europa adventure mixed in with indifferent to outright poor league form. But RDZ has still completed important work integrating young talent. This is now a huge summer for the club, which has to recruit wisely on two fronts. A failure on either could make for a very dangerous campaign but having Enciso, Hinshelwood, Adingra, Buonanotte and, above all, Barco a year wiser gives plenty of grounds for optimism. We still represent a very exciting project for a motivated coach.

So long, RDZ, and thanks. It’s been a blast. Now I’m excited for the next chapter.

Every manager has a shelf life, Roberto reached his (quicker than I thought tbf) and he's gone. No bitterness from me. Thanks for the memories and.... ooh who's next?!!

Well I've thoroughly enjoyed his tenure during which we have played the best football I have ever seen from an Albion team. I'm a little surprised as I think he is still inexperienced at this level and has made a fair few mistakes during his time here. Consequently, I expected him to see out another season to see whether he could learn from it and become a better manager, but maybe that isn't RDZ's way as he does seem to come into any new situation like a whirlwind and I wonder if that is why he doesn't seem to last very long.

Anyway, I'll be giving him big applause tomorrow for the fun we have had under him and will wish him well. Pleased to be able to give him the send off we never got to give CH.

Meanwhile, I believe the Albion will become stronger and more established as a top 10 club with occasional European forays. If you want more than that and are moaning that RDZ 'wasn't backed' I wonder if you have the right club or would be happier if TB was bought out by foreign states, huge foreign corporates or generally dodgy large organisations.

While we still have Bart, JPVH, Dunk, Hinsh, Barco, Estupinian, Mitoma, March, Encisco, Baleba, Adingra, Pedro, Ferguson, Buonanotte, Igor, Welbeck, Padscal, Billy Gilmour and the next generation of kids lined up, pardon me if I don't join in with the 'It's all downhill from here Brigade'

My main interest now is who TB and PB have lined up.

To be a better manager, someone has to get us further in Europe, or win a cup or get us to fifth in the league. It's a big ask.

It isn't an ask. Last year we had the fortune of a Tottenham team in disarray, Chelsea in meltdown, West Ham struggling on all fronts and Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool capable of gaffs now and then. All the stars aligned and Albion didn't have the distraction of a European campaign.

The problem with last season was that folk have started to expect too much now. It's best to expect nothing and just enjoy the ride.
