People's reaction are so weird. When Potter went there were claims he'd done nothing really and De Zerbi transformed us. Now I'm seeing people claim it was all Potter's work really.

The truth is we've had two excellent managers in succession who've taken the club where it wanted to be. Are we at a crossroads? Yes. But the right managerial choice can build on the work of both Potter and RDZ.

I'm sorry to see him go because we played the best football we've ever played and there was a period when we'd go to Emirates and Old Trafford half expecting to win. But this is a classic example of the 'I've taken them as far as I can' mentality. So ending it feels logical and inevitable.

FWIW, I imagine he'll get a job in Italy now (Napoli, Bologna etc).

Why? If we have terminated his contract then why would be entitled to compo? There might be an agreement between the parties but doesn’t seem a great deal from RDZ point of view unless we are paying him until his next job which I very much doubt

He clearly did not want to be our manager anymore, so it did not make sense for us to force him to stay.

With mutual consent, he is now free to negotiate with who he wants and we can get a replacement in.

However, as part of the mutual agreement, there is likely some figure that was agreed that another club would have to pay us.

Have just read club statement. Clear that he does not have a job offer so can only presume he is not happy with what Bloom has put on table for next season. I think this is more of a concern than losing a manager because we will not finish anywhere near top ten with this squad.

No concerns at all. I think Bloom will make enough funds available to bolster a brilliant young squad and keep it competitive. What he won't do is pay huge fees for established stars, breaking away from the model that's got the club to this point. That seems to be what De Zerbi expected, judging by his demeanour since January.
