Richie Towell on loan?

I could be wrong but I seem to recall that in an interview CH made a comment about him and for some reason my first thought was that he hadn't impressed in training. I know it's a bit vague but it was just something I picked up on that seemed to stick in my head for some reason

Where has this info come from then? No info from club/Argus and search on google so this thread as the only thing mentioning it! Couple of things on twitter, one of which is a BHA fan account.

Well i agree with you . CH it seems does not,as on reflection,Towell was not up to standard hence Sidwell !!!

I don't think so. He was a cheap gamble for the future IMO - they probably didn't expect him to come straight into the team.. Who knows..? (Apart from CH CC etc)

Shocked at some of the idiotic comments in here. A loan move to a league 2 club is a perfectly natural progression for him & us after a move from the Irish league. Chill ffs! He needs time to adapt to the English league...

Agreed. When he arrived he expressed a desire to make the full Irish squad, well he has a better chance of doing that if he is playing. Whilst convenient for us, it does him a favour whilst helping him develop, ready for next season.

Go on loan once then it's for good experience and playing time

Go Twice and you're not good enough , time to move on

Or maybe Bristol Rovers came to us and asked, and no League 1 clubs have? I don't think we can conclude that a team being interested in him on loan means we don't want him anymore

Bristol Rovers were initially interested in him but lost out to us. So they're keen. Sounds like a good move.

Weird he is down as a midfielder but scored 27 goals last season for Dundalk.
Did they play him as a striker then at Dundalk ?
That would be some sort of world record for a midfield player to score 27 goals in one season wouldn't it ?

John Wark scored 35 or 36 goals in the 80/81 season for Ipswich. Mind you i think 14 of them, were in the euafa cup.

Robert Lester Zamora - loaned to Bath City, then loaned to Brighton & Hove Albion....

Whatever happened to him?

Watched him play in the U21s and he certainly looked like a good prospect, although not cut out for the first team at championship level just yet. A loan will give him the game time he needs to continue his development although League 1 would have been a better preference.

That seems a little wrong. I recall Peter Crouch, easily PL standard, being loaned out a few times at the start of his career. Certainly didn't do him much harm.

It might not do him any harm to be loaned out one more time at the end of his career. Steve Sidwell may have a word in his ear.

Are we turning into a Chelsea? Signing up players only to loan them out to generate income. Not a bad strategy at all but I am a bit uneasy about it. Not sure why, probably cos I've had a drink.
