take results, think its like all english sides when things go against us we tend to run out of ideas and launch long. Once we got the goal we started to play.

I think results will ultimately lead to performances anyway

I think most people would take results over performance.

But, long-term surely getting the football right is more important than short-term results.

Also, there is nothing to say we wouldn't have won the games playing attractive football either.

I think the football was far better under Dean Wilkins. I also seem to remember numerous pro Adams posters on here saying his appointment would herald a new era of attacking football.

I still think three league games is too early to tell anything.

I think that's the important thing. Getting the first goal then keep taking the game to the opposition. Cos - to state the bleedin' obvious - while you're attacking them, they can't be attacking you. Getting the goal and then trying to sit back on it rarely works at this level. The defending just isn't accomplished enough to make it work. Lot of 90th minute goals around nowadays.

The performance against Bristol Rovers was as poor as any of the above.

Every team has off days Uncle Spielberg. Yes we went out of the cup to Mansfield. Check the rest of the cup results though. Swansea were taken to two games by Horsham and knocked out by Havant.

We were gifted an early goal against Bristol and went on to be awful...

Also, surely getting the performances right will ultimately see the results come - not the other way round.

In his first season Wilkins oversaw 2 , 5 game losing runs and a 6 game losing run, in less than a season :nono: and then het got a 3 year contract :thud:, I cannot see Adams having 5 / 6 match losing runs.

I think it is obvious wer are probably not going to agree on the pros and cons of Dean Wilkins.

What is clear though is that Adams inherited a decent squad (one which finished 7th last season) and significant funds to add to it.

I just wish Brighton fans could appreciate the merits of different managers (and goalkeepers to a certain degree after the Henderson vs Kuipers fiasco) instead of taking sides.

?

But some things are very clear and people get passionate about them:

Kuipers is a better keeper than Henderson, and

Adams is a better manager than Wilkins.

I am amazed that some people on this board cannot see it. Thank goodness DK did.

Points mean prizes but at the end of the day in our three league matches so far whenever we have got the ball on the ground we have actually looked a fantastic side - but as with the original poster there is too much long ball element in our game.

probably if he really is in it for the long haul

but the deciding factor is will the squad bounce back from it better than they did under Wilkins?

Well, the performances were shite under Wilkins anyway, so I don't think we're missing out on much to be honest - if we're getting the results, that's all that matters.

"significant funds" ??? That would be the significant funds we've spent on transfers would it?

This really is a dumb poll, might I add.

I think what is becoming clear is that the people outraged at Wilkins sacking are having to eat some humble pie and admit it may just have been the right decision. Who knows Richie Morris may even re apply for this season ticket at this rate.

Keep going.

I guess if you keep saying something long enough, in the end in your personal world you end up believing it to be the truth.

If I wanted to watch a bunch of huge blokes smashing a ball forward and all chasing it in the vague hope of somehow scrambling it over a line, I'd watch rugby.
