Why start it again and undermine the current bids worth £75?

It is straight forward and you either bid or you don't, would you take part if a new was thread started?

The thread says Dick Knight - MadMan REMF Xmas auction. So it says what it is. As it is the deal is a much better one and I had planned to do a second thread with the title of meeting Dick in person anyway. Thanks to those who have bid and added some positivity into the thread.

Don't disagree with any of that. As you know, I gave up sums in the fifth year in favour of reading and writing stories!

Which is when I gave up history and dates (Battle of Blenheim anyone?) - hence my error with the date of the first (of many) convertible loan notes - should have been April/May 2008.

I am not wanting anything like that just want a thread where people can bid on an item and that is it. I will do a second thread with the title re meeting Dick and transfer the bids to date to that with all the details and people can bid and just that. I try not to bite but the half hearted thing has pissed me off. It is an insult to a lot of people who put in a lot of hard graft in their own spare time. The thread will be done later and hopefully made a sticky and I will do an update once a day with the hightest bids until 6/12, 5 pm when the winners will be announced and arrangements can be made.

No problem. I've rewritten the opening post too, to explain what the prize includes, and to 'sell it' a bit.

A 45 minute, one to one meeting with Dick Knight to discuss BHAFC and aspects of his book. A book personally signed by Dick with whatever they want ( within reason ! ), a coffee and photo's. 2 places and books donated by Dick. Auction closes Friday 6/12 at 5 pm when the 2 highest bids will win. Meeting date to be announced with Dick having a filling diary at the moment but between 9/12 and before Xmas. Coffee shop in Hove, probably Nero. Highest bids so far £40 and £ 35. All proceeds to the REMF.
