I think this could be the season that Guinness Boy leaps onto the “Potter is a bit bloody good” bandwagon then :lolol:

:lolol:

With pre-season only just started, the Euros only just finished and transfer business starting to emerge from its slumber these are simply traders' odds designed to part a few fools from their money. They currently mean about as much as the odds for "next manager of...."

I'll be diving fully onto that bandwagon if he can turn the potential people have been banging on about for two full seasons now into actual results though, don't worry about that.

Found out? It is no secret how we play. Been playing the same way for 3 years. Plus the confidence gained from last season, fans back in the ground and Orta strengthening the squad means we will be okay. Plus we would have to be unlucky to have as many injuries as last season.
I don't think you'll go down at all. I'm just looking for value.

Eh? That means there is a 60% ish chance of us being in the bottom half. Let's hope they're wrong!

55% top half - 45% bottom half I think. Top 10 would be a huge ask. 12th-14th would be a very decent return I think!

We were 4/1 for the same thing last year - 11/10 is a crazy price considering and not worth touching imo - esp as we came 16th.

Sheff Utd said the same. Leeds' game of "run around now" may have caught everyone by surprise (other than us, who comfortably won both games). Don't forget, no one bothered watching you in the championship, same with Sheff Utd, so yes it would have been a surprise.

I think the 3 that came up may well all go back down.
I also think Palace will have a shaky season but will stay up.
Wolves are my dark horses for relegation, I can see Neves and Traore both going this window.
Regarding us - who knows!!

Was just thinking I may have a sneaky couple of quid on Leeds dropping this season. Striking resemblance to both Sheff Utd and Huddersfield for me.

Can't see any value in us unless White goes and we re-invest heavily in a striker. Lower mid table looks most likely to me right now.***

Norwich look pretty much like certs for me. Then I hope Palarse, but I'm expecting them to throw stupid money at some aging has-beens to see them scrape through. Then it's anyone from about eight for the other spot.

Edit: ***I mean value in us finishing top half, not going down!

The continuity that Leeds have re style of play and recruitment to suit that would suggest another strong season. The challenge will be when Bielsa goes. I’m really impressed with Kalvin Phillips. I’d like him to be injured for the two Brighton games next season, as he was 2020/21, but other than that I wish him well.
I think the onus on goal scoring needs to shift from Bamford to others. Overall, I think 8-11th range would be my guess.

How can anyone possibly tell at this point? We have £50m to spend but have lost a 3rd of a very good defensive trio. Spend well it could be lift off time, spend poorly and we could struggle if we start to concede goals? I think the former is more likely but impossible to know at this point.

We had better results against the so-called top 6 the second time around. We also have a new pitch for next season, something that will greatly enhance our quick football that hindered us pre-Christmas and then we had the borrowed slippy pitch from Spurs that didn't settle down until March. I think Southampton and perhaps Wolves might struggle with the 3 promoted clubs next season. Think 4th from bottom might be sub 35 points again as hopefully Norwich wont be as bad as last time but if they are that means the teams around them might get a 4-6 pt cushion.

We had better results against the so-called top 6 second time around as well, in fact they were better than yours. But it means **** all for next season.

I've just read the fan previews in the Guardian and they ask everyone for their bottom three. Nobody at all says Southampton. Over the second half of last season they gained less points than every other team in the league and had the worst goal difference. Had they performed in that way across the whole season they would have finished with 28 points and a -46 goal difference and taken Fulham's spot in the relegation places. They've since lost their best player and signed nobody of note. Hasenhuttl doesn't seem to be inspiring confidence that he has a plan to turn this around, yet nobody else seems to think that they could be in trouble. What is everyone seeing that I'm not?

That surprised me too. 2 fans, Palace and Burnley, predicted us to go down in 18th place.

Surprises me that Brentford are already out to 3/1 and Palace are so short at 5/4 on. Those teams should be swapped around in my opinion.

Agreed. Especially sad expansive Pats lads had twice the shots Brentford did at home… hold on…. Something wrong with the stars fr this game surely…? Expansive Pat.
