el abd suprised me today after the slating he got on here after the cardiff game. NSC probably going over the top again, made some good blocks and tackles and made the easy pass most of the time.

would like to see elphick and lynch at the back when joel gets fit again, butters couldn't handle there big lad so elphick took over marking him, so what's butters going to be left with? the pacey strikers?

revell, NEVER stops running.

referee = grinning twat. book players when they deserve it PLEASE!

northampton = team full of pricks basically.

Kuipers 5 His usual self made a couple of routine saves but f..ked up a lot does not inspire confidence.
Whing 6 Ok but first touch is bad.
Elphick 8 Without doubt MOM looked like a seasoned pro and didnt buckle under the assaults from Cobblers.
Butters 5 Looked to have gone a season too far in the first half but improved in the 2nd.
Rents 6 Quite a good game, delivery of the ball is good but caused 10 minutes of mayhem with a rash tackle.
Robinson 6 Ok in parts but not consistent enough for the entire game.
El Abd 6 Broke up play well but will never be able to direct a pass of more than 10 yds.
Cox 6 Bright in short periods but didnt do enough to penetrate their defence.
Forster 6 Must be wondering what the hell he is doing here
Revell 7 Linked up well with Forster shaded as MOM by the goal misses that he had.

Subs:

Fraser 5 Did what he had to when he came on nothing bad nothing brilliant.
Savage 6 Held the ball up to ruin down the clock well.

Ref: 4 Was abysmal and scared of his own shadow. Should have sent the No4 off for running 3/4 of the pitch to have a go at Elphick with that intention in mind.

DW DW 4 got it completely wrong in the first half but improved when Northampton discipline went. Must realise we need to enter the market for a creative midfielder and possibly holding midfielder very quick.

Kuipers 6 - one good save, but dodgy as f*** in the air ... unconvincing.

Whing 7 - solid enough.
Elphick 8 - top performance, looks a promising defender.
Butters 6 - iffy passing, generally solid.
Rents 7 - looked pretty sound in possession.

Robinson 6 - headless chicken syndrome in possession, but offered a decent outlet.
Hammond 7 - decent penalty, good game.
El Abd 6 - moments of quality, moments of shite.
Cox 6 - plenty of the ball, did little with it.

Revell 7 - lead the line well, got the second.
Forster 6 - some nice touches, but weak finishing.

High up on the South Downs.
Kuipers 6
Whing 6
Elphick 8 - Always looked lightweight to me before tonight but was great in the air, and super cool on the ball
Butters 6
Rents 6
Robinson 4 - useless, can't cross, runs with the ball pointlessly and generally loses it
El Abd 7
Hammond 7
Cox 7
Revell 8 - Our most valuable player imo
Forster 6 - disappointing

Savage 7 - looked very dangerous when he came on!
Fraser 6
Thank ****** I'm not alone in thinking that the Boy Jake was a waste of space yet again. How much longer will people be taken in by this most ineffective of players?
Mr V, your ratings are hard to disagree with. Perhaps one more for Sam Rents and one less for Guy.

Who won the penalty for the first goal?

Good to see people are still berating Kuipers, he made two great saves yesterday and the only fault I could see was a dodgy punch, but even then his way was obstructed.

I was really disappointed with Guy and Forster and am hoping that they both just had a rare off day. And we won so no harm done.

Like most people I was pleased to sign Forster, even though I thought it was a bit of a convenient move for him domestically, and this was my first sight of him in blue and white stripes. He didn't play like the most expensive signing in the side.

I'm not knocking him - just hoping this was a one off.

We know Guy is solid (in more ways than one) and equally that he must have been disappointed with his first half. All the more credit to Elphick for holding it together at the back.

You've got low standards for "great" saves.

One was a good save, certainly, the other was totally routine. He was all other the place whenever the ball was in the air, booted the ball against his own defender trying to clear it, and inspired zero confidence in the defence.

He also looked like he'd spent the summer "working out" in McDonalds. New season, same old Kuipers.

I cannot understand how or why FDM gets stick. I truly don't understand it.

He;s reliable, instills confidence in the defence, strikers bounce off him, he loves the Albion and makes great saves. Why do people not think he's the best keeper we've had since I don't know when?

I can just about understand Deano wanting to get some competition for him, but am worried that we'll get some other kid in and our best keeper will be back on the bench again. WHY ? FFS WHY?

As 5 is average in player ratings, then giving a player a 5 or a 6 is hardly berating them.
