Kuipers 8. Played well except for the one questionable punch.
Whing 6. Poor first half. Beaten regularly to high balls, distribution poor. Improved as the second half progressed.
Elphick 9. MOM, no question (what game were the sponsors watching?). Really composed for a young player with so few first team starts.
Butters 5. Unusually poor first half and crap distribution. Improved in the second half.
Rents 7. Good game. Great free kick for the goal. Got stuck in when we needed it.
Robinson 7. Would like to see more from him.
ElAbd 7. Reasonable performance.
Hammond 7. Still not at his best, but well taken penalty.
Cox 7. Like Jakey, has potential to do more.
Revell 8. Well taken goal. Great in the air. Non-stop running.
Forster 6. Expected more. Won very few high balls. Missed a sitter at the end that even I could have scored!

Subs:
Fraser 7. Fitted in well to the midfield slot. Definitely better there than out wide.
Savage 7. Worked hard in the short time he had.

Glad we beat them.I consider them to be in the relagation mix up so that makes it even more sweeter. We must improve our home record and beat the weaker teams in this league

Quite simply, new players.

As far as I am concerned, Fraser or El Abd are never ever going to do the job we need. They can both do alright at times, but they're not consistent performers at the standard we require, and they're not creative at all. The answer is simple - a new central player who can pass, run, and shoot, and we need him soon.

What about Reid when he's fully ready for a first team start? And I would like to see Hinsh in the ElAbd slot. What's with his injury?

Kuipers - 6- erratic, all over the place at times, fairly solid at others.
Whing - 6 - quiet
Elphick - 8 - looks VERY promising, seems to love to really get involved
Butters 6 - a dodgy first half, steady in the second
Rents - 6 - didn't do a lot, but got a vital assist
Hammond 6 - we're buggered without him
Cox - 4 - did absolutely sod all
Robinson - 6- tried to go forward, encouraging at times
El-abd - 6 - got stuck in
Forster - 4 - out of the game, and fluffed any chances he did get. I bet he's wondering why he came here with service like that!
Revell - 6- an all important goal with a decent header, and good solid workrate.

Savage - 7
Fraser - 6

Brighton
Kuipers - 6 - Bad punch and smashed the ball at one of our players clumsily
Whing - 7 - Good apart from a couple of small mistakes
Elphick - 9 - Quality, good temperament
Butters - 5 - Aimlessly hoofed a couple when we were looking to score
Rents - 7 - Great ball for the winner, apparently put in an awful challenge but I don't care about that
Cox - 4 - Didn't look quick or threatening a tall
Robinson - 6 - Couldn't really get into the game
Hammond - 6 - Couldn't get into the game either really
El Abd - 7 - Never gave the ball away, good challenges in midfield
Revell - 8 - Played well all round
Forster - 6 - Should of scored once or twice

Savage and Fraser did well when they came on

We only came good after Northampton started kicking seven kinds of shit out of our players.

And let's face it ... most of them deserved it.

As supporters, we should encourage the opposition to get angry earlier. That might produce more performances like we saw late on today.

DEFENCE - First half, totally disorganised - 4 Second half, better - 6

Robinson - Got no joy first half but was lively. Looked better when he moved further inside - 6
El-Abd - Some great tackles, never gave up and was efficient with his passing. Needs to be more careful - 7
Hammond - Anonymous, misplaced passing, mistimed tackles. Took Pen well - 5
Cox - Looked better when he moved inside. Tidy - 6

Revell - Did well in the air, decent on the ball. Never got much joy from midfield though - 7
Forster - Makes some nice runs if only someone could pick him out - 6

Subs
