Why should a group of religious people have greater sanctions when they are the victims of the same crime ?

A group of religious people should not have greater sanctions if, as you say, the crime is the same. If it was general abuse, the same written as your wall, then the charge should be the same. If the abuse written on your wall was racist against whatever race you are (or, if you happened to be gay, homophobic telling you to leave what should be a straight country/neighbourhood) then you should have the same sanctions that these guys had here.

I actually do understand your point about causing offence - Stephen Fry's quote which I've put below is quite apt - but there is a difference between saying something that happens to offend someone (as Fry says, so what) and deliberately setting out to offend someone because of their race/gender/sexuality.

I very much doubt the 4 bombers were truly part of the Muslim community - they were probably very alienated from any community.

Good grief - you aren't [MENTION=2850]brunswick[/MENTION] in disguise are you ? So two very old surveys with very small sample bases show that a minority of Muslims don't believe the government accounts of 9/11 or 7/7 - you can find plenty of non-Muslims with similar views.
