I agree. But in terms of money generated it is not particularly huge...and after all this is the aim of the organisation. It is also at an advantage to many other charities in that it is linked to the football club and with this comes many ready made donors and contacts. On this latter point, via the football club there is probably only 2 degrees of seperation between REMF and almost anything/anyone in the county. I have said before it has the potential to be absolutely huge. The Brighton marathon is not exploited properly; much more could be raised from this if it was done properly. On this point REMF should also be organising a 10k/half marathon. There are a few charities running Brighton 10ks and half marathons now. I realise I am coming across as mean as I know the REMF put a lot of effort in but it really needs to go to the next level...and it can.
Don't forget that everything that is organised is done in peoples spare time as well as having full-time jobs. I think raising over £125,000 is bloody good for a charity that is done in peoples spare time.
