also when jimmy is riding along the cliffs, there is a point when u can see the shadow of the helicopter on the grass
My parents were caught up in the brawl between the Mods and the Rockers and the police which features in Quadrophenia. At the time (August 1964), my mum was pregnant with me. Whenever I watch the film, I'm mindful that I was there.
I was an extra in Quadrophenia.![]()
I could bore you about the 1961 B.A.T.S. Agreement that meant that Southdown ran (I think) 29.5 per cent of the bus mileage in the Brighton, Hove and Shoreham area.To be fair i'm getting the info from my dad - so who knows how accurate it is! LOL!
He worked on the buses from '65 onwards and says that Brighton & Hove District didn't partially merge with Southdown until 1969. He says that u r right in that Southdown did indeed have green buses in 1964... but the bus that is seen in the film is definitely a B,H & District bus and not a Southdown one.
Something about k-types and crash gear boxes etc. Lost on me...

The fares used to be the same on BH&D and Brighton Corporation but I think Southdown used to charge more because they had the "posher" buses.I could bore you about the 1961 B.A.T.S. Quadrophenia on again tonight - followed by The Kids Are Alright.
The shape of the bus was too modern to be late 1950's/early 60's which you would expect to see. Seeing a green bus going by on the seafront and you would instantly think of Southdown. Will have a look on the dvd to try and discover what type of bus it was ( I remember going to school on a green Lodekka )
acted out a few knee tremblers down that same alley when i was younger
I did that too :yahoo::yahoo::yahoo:
