So you’ve just posted about rhetoric and name calling and more moderate language and…Agreed. But the silence offered by those feeling ignored allows the idiots to feel justified.

I'm curious as to what you mean by that? Should we be 'nice to racists'?Let yourself down there HT, surprising.
I utterly condemn the rioting, but to keep tarring so many people with the same extreme language does nothing to stop it.Indeed, and let's not forget that a hell of a lot of them are filling their boots simply because they love a bit of aggro and looting. Pond life.
I'm tarring the racist thugs who were responsible.I utterly condemn the rioting, but to keep tarring so many people with the same extreme language does nothing to stop it.
The years of austerity are always overlooked when considering the root of people's feelings in the lead-up to Brexit.
An interesting notion in James O'Brien's book was that in the lead up to the referendum, Cameron was hamstrung in his campaigning because he couldn't tell people the actual reason they were struggling because he was behind it.
Another statisitc mentioned was the meteoric rise of the importance of immigration to the British people, it was way down the priorities list for the electorate in the early 2010's (despite, as we are told, Blair 'opened the floodgates' in 1997).
Given there is a massive issue with knife crime currently, you would think most people wouldWhy would a 'sensible and level headed' person be accepting of such targeting? Explain, please.
No.I'm curious as to what you mean by that? Should we be 'nice to racists'?
Of course normal folk would want it stopped, but were you suggesting that certain minorities being specifically targeted should accept it, more than you or I?Given there is a massive issue with knife crime currently, you would think most people would
Want to help in stopping it?
As I said it depends on how the officers approach the situation.
Something needs to be done and stop and search is unfortunately the easiest option we have at the moment to hand.

I guess it depends on the level of 'questioning'.No.
But not everybody who questions mass immigration is a racist. Whether Harry meant that or not, it is an overused term by many.

(Remainer here) the immigration floodgates were opened as ONS figures show, the numbers are huge. Personally I welcomed the hard working eastern Europeans and still do. But little infrastructure was built to adjust in terms of huge programmes of housing, schools, additional hospital capacity, GP’s, transport.
It was very laissez faire, very British with no top down planning.
If that was the way it worked, that's fine. The main victims slain or deliberately maimed in a very particular way are black kids. I’ve heard their parents interviewed where they welcome more police intervention. Imho stop n search in dangerous areas should be expanded, but ensuring all creeds are affected. 32% result in a police action for a crime, it works.
Totally agree with this post. Large numbers and declining services are always a recipe for disaster.
This is why the fact that austerity hardly be in mentioned in the debate is a problem and a contributing factor to the high number of immigrants being blamed for people's problems.
Pure speculation on my part, but I think there'll be very little poverty/hardship among those charged.Poverty’s linked to crime.
But I’ll wait a little to see the occupation of those charged in Southport, Whitehall, Hartlepool and Sunderland. It might reveal people in trades, jobs or professions. Often it’s a surprise to see who’s been charged.
I know you are joking but it could head that way.Fully support this.
I was going to ask for the weekend off but I’m more than happy to turn up for the usual time and a half to do the Thread Bans.

sorry, are you saying we shouldn't tar those rioting with bad namesI utterly condemn the rioting, but to keep tarring so many people with the same extreme language does nothing to stop it.
