Yeah, I'm a bit confused as to why we seem to be making a cult hero out of someone that accused Albion fans of being racist at one match, and completely f***ed us over in another.
Very good point. I wouldn't accomodate the attention-seeking little wanker until he's issued a grovelling apology (on the pitch before kick-off). And if he DOES think we're racists - why is he associating with us? (Ohhh I'm still proper angry over it)

Standing in the way of control
Bizarre decision - it's a home game, is there really no-one else you could have got on? Prosser is an enemy of the club - he could have seriously damaged the reputation we've built in the community. We should have sued him, because he has never had the guts to back up the false racism allegation, probably because - strangely enough - none of the stewards or anyone else in the ground witnessed it. He was exceptionally dull last time he was on...even Collymore on TalkSport is better. I won't be listening.

Can you ask him what is obstruction because the most blatant form of obstruction is a defender putting his arm to stop a player getting at the ball as it runs out for a goal kick. I know people on here have given febble excuses about the ball being under control but I dont agree with that. as usually the ball is last played by an attacker so how can a defender have it under control. I was told by an old Div 1 ref, yes that long ago, that refs would cause mahem if they gave it as obstruction and the managers would be up in arms.

This is one of my bugbears in the game.

We did ask him about it last time, but I'm happy to do so again.

Thank you I will make a point of listening on the net in Haywards Heath where we cannot receive you on the radio.

Incidentally another point I was told by a league ref that they had been ordered not to penalise a foul throw unless it was blatantly obvious, in order to keep the game moving any truth in that.

WTF?! Why! This man accused us of being racist with no evidence whatsoever and yet we're treating like a celebrity. Can someone at TAR please explain why??

Perhaps we could get David Bellotti in to talk about the trials and tribulations of owning a football club?

Asking him about refereeing decisions is even more comical seeing how he was one of the worst referees I have ever seen officiate an Albion game.

SAKE.

We understand how hated he is, but then it makes for good debate having a figure such as Phil on.

You ask the questions and he answers them. It's not making him into a celebrity. I mean come on I don't want to talk the Albion Roar down but we are community radio, not talksport or the BBC.

Essentially if you have a question about his decisions and comments when he was referee at Albion games then post them and we will ask them as long as they are constructive and not rude etc

If you have a question about referees and decisions in general you can ask him.

He may be hated but so are other refs, I gather the Irish are not happy with the one that got them knocked out the world cup etc

I understand the racism thing grates and I think Phil may have mentioned it last time, but feel free to ask questions about it and Phil will address them.

I have not met him as he has been in when Richie presents the show, but he travels down and is willing to address what Albion fans want to ask.

Think that's fair.

By the way Arthur, it's The Albion Roar, not TLO Albion Roar - we are a team, though Al is a valuable member

With respect it wasn't a question of getting a decision wrong (which as you say all refs do) it was the branding of Brighton fans as racist. Yes I know (if it happened) it would only have been a few people and I know that like other clubs we've got a few ***** in the fanbase (the recent closure of NSC for alleged racist comments tends to prove that). But instead of thinking (again, if it actually happened) "well it was only one or two arseholes and all clubs have them so I'll rise above it" for reasons best known to himself Prosser decided to make an issue of it. This was at a delicate time in the Falmer negotiatons when a story about 'racist Brighton fans' did us no favours whatsoever.

And it IS a serious allegation so I want to know through what channels he reported the abuse and what the outcome was. Thankyou.

not being funny. I think Albion Roar is a great idea....

But having Phil Prosser on there AGAIN is never going to be the best idea.
Surely getting some old players who people actually want to hear from is a better idea?

I'd rather listen to no guests than Phil Prosser. It's like having the BNP on newsnight except Prosser doesn't have ANY supporters..

Sorry guys I know you do a great job, but I just don't get it:shrug:
