Next game is in just about 2,5 days, I seriously doubt anyone starting today will start on Saturday.

Yeah, you're right. Hope fails, in the end, to triump expectation. :lolol:

Another away game without defeat.

Tidy.

I am starting to feel like a Man City (new fan) watching games and expecting to turn over championship and lower half Premier league clubs with ease.
I have been around in the Goldstone days as well :lolol:

The training facilities and coaching are really starting to show fruit and us ex 1970's Goldstoners that have lived through decades of post 1983 rubbish, just aren't used to this level of technical competence and attacking flair...... its confusing and has to stop.

He’s not for sale.

Respect to Stat Brother who I don’t think ever rode with the Jahanbakhsh lynching parties.

As neither did I, as neither don't you know

Posted in the 80th min or something. We did progress did we not? And Biss out for one league match; that's a prize.

Oh, I agree it's good we've got Bissouma off of most of his three match ban - I thought you were talking about progressing to the next round (which I don't think is very likely from now!)

Just me and Icy Gull.

We got on early, fought off all comers and are now seemingly being shouted down by posters who ALWAYS believed.

Bless'em.

All good fun and very happy for the chap.

TBH I'd still like to see a a few performances at the highest level.
But at least that conversation can be had sensibly (well as sensibly as it gets round these parts)

But as said for the moment very happy that it turns out Ali is actually a footballer.

It would be nice to find a way of incorporating Haydon Roberts into a team that includes White, Webster and Dunk.
He looks very composed and polished. I wonder if there is any way he could play at left-back? - Although I haven't got a clue if he can burst forward or cross a ball.

Also a big shout out for Big Dan Burn and Joel Veltman who both look so dependable and experienced, always seeming to choose the right pass.

My man of the match was Pascal Gross. He's always looking to pass forwards and to deliver the ball into dangerous areas. He's ahead of Ali J or Ali Mac in my book.
Too soon for Roberts. Needs a loan playing grown up football. League 1 maybe - OK, he might shine and his dad might think he's 'too good for that level', but he's still only 18 and has got some bulking up to do. Not impossible at 18 to grow another inch or two either.

As far as Gross was concerned, I was obviously watching a different match. Good assist for Mac Argie's goal though.

Indeed, but the intelligence in the movement and timing made him so easy to pick out

Totaly agree, watch that clip a few times and you can see Ale Macc watching gross movements and perfectly timing his run, anticipating that pass. Cotrast with Gykores (not a dig) but he sticks his hand up to say pass to me (next to a Preston CB) and whilst he pulls of off the CB as the ball is crossed there is no clear pass/angle.

But funniest of all is the Preston number 7, just in front of Ale Macc, totally ball watching oblivious to whats going on around him until its in the net.......

He could feature as a sub, also should say not directed at you but PNE put in a good performance vs us the EFL isnt the push over some pundits make it out to be.

After giving the head a wobble, yeah, sub :lolol:

As noted we have never won up there in 120 years till today. We can now chalk that off :D

Just because he has spent 16 months being taught how to play in a top level game by Potter and his team doesn't mean he was Messi in disguise and only the believers were right..

I've always said he had great technique and his attitude is perfect.

You were up against the might of the Mod Squad for Ali’s first eighteen months with us.

Luckily, they always ‘wanted him to do well’ despite the relentless criticism and snide snipes.

Well done.
