I’d play a similar team against United tbh, I always think it’s unfair when reserve players carry a team to a stage of a competition then get dropped in the later stages.

Roberts strolled through that game. Made it look easy.
Dare I say it, he could be the next Lewis Dunk - brilliant passing distribution and positionally aware throughout the whole game.
Need to get that contract signed and then loaned out to a Championship side to continue his football education.

He’s one I could see getting a game next week albeit with Dunk and White alongside him

No one in that team can dribble. Not one of our offensive players (Argie, AJ, Gross, Gyokeres). It’s why their not in the first team as they don’t offer that something different to Trossard or Lallana. Suppose we can just give the ball to Lamptey.

It may have been a typographic error as the second half data summary showed us dribbling like teething toddlers.

We're just fine :lolol:

I wonder if we will play some first teamers on the bench next week? Just to help the lads have a late boost against United

Wishful thinking? Think it’ll be a much more experienced side playing next week

I very much doubt Potter is going to play first-choice players in the League Cup when there are vital Premier League points to play for a few days later. Neither will Man Utd.

Recall the midweek 0-5 when Gary Hart got sent off early on. Weeks of planning a work trip to Liverpool and brokering a lift back to Sussex. Undone in a few short minutes.

The joys of following Albion home and away. O how we miss it.

Carrow Road, Deepdale & Hillsborough almost always seemed fruitless for us in my 44 years of support. In recent times, we’ve shaken off the hoodoos.

Stephens has been, and still is to some extent, far better and missed than many give him credit for.

Has he gone yet?

If so, time to move on.

Is it pay on the gate next round?

Your avatar needs refreshing too, as has been mentioned elsewhere ???

Apart from that, I'm 110% in

I agree with all of those saying we'll keep the same side for the Man U game in the cup.

This team deserve the chance to play in the tie, but more importantly the players aren't conditioned enough for two games a week yet, given the lack of pre season.

soccer24hd stream worked well all game.

Good game for us, in seasons gone by, it's the type of fixture we'd not have shown up at, probably been knocked out before this stage. Another good performance. Ali J must be on a few teams radars now.

Playing Jahanbakhsh, he must be on Potter’s radar.

sorry no way 2nd team will play manu - maybe few and few more on bench but will probably be strong 1st team presence. Beat utd and only 3 games to wembley so we have to take it seriously

Priority is the league. and with 2 games against them, I think we will have broadly similar starting 11. it will be the bench that will differ imho, they'll be first team options like Lallana, Maupay/Connolly as subs

Love watching MacAllister - hoping a nothing injury. Great seeing such talented young lads blending in with their more experienced colleagues for a comfortable win. Main puzzler of the evening: did we really pay £9 million for Bernardo.

Great result. Now onto the two game series against the Manure Devils - a relegation 12 pointer?

That’s a wonderfully timed run by Mac

He made the same run for both goals, (albeit he missed the ball for the first). He also made the same run for his goal against Pompey. We don't have anyone breaking from midfield like that in the first team
