I think the striker will come from abroad - torrents of abuse from you know who :lolol:

I would hope not as MM hasnt done too well with his striker choices which is rather suprising as he was a striker in his playing days, I believe.

I would sooner he went fora premiership club third or fourth choice or youngster who is learing the game properly from his club.

Went to northhampton gfor a month

Young forward who was given his first taste of League football during loan spells at Exeter City (2002), Leyton Orient (2004-05) and Northampton Town (2005), and also had a temporary stay at Conference club Stevenage Borough (2004). A prolific goalscorer at reserve team level, he turned professional with us in July 2002 and made his League debut in Exeter Citys 3-0 win away to Boston United in November of that year. Scored 17 goals in 17 starts for the reserves last season including successive hat-tricks against Arsenal and Derby County. Also scored our first and last goals of last season in friendlies against Falkenbergs FF in Sweden in July and Mauritius in May.

Hasn't been out on loan or in first team squads though?

Why has no other club in any division considered him?

Piercey was captain of the reserves at Spurs but not all that briliant for us considering his reputation and our expectations of him.

IMHO Piercey always looked as if he had the class and ability but then didnt produce it consistently on the pitch for us when he was given the chance. He did show great moments of brilliance but perhaps we expected too much with Hoddle's raving about him.

Simarly Mark Yeates started off great but went off very quick and where is he now?

I don't mean to sound condescending, but if you knew anything about the effects of the illness Piercy suffered from you'd understand much better. His talent was clear, but his condition meant he was never able to maintain the level of fitness required.

Paynter would have been a good signing but he is on loan at Hull. Scored yesterday against Cardiff.

You are probably right, forgot he had been ill for ages.

At work - probably
What about Neil Mellor??? does he meet the criteria??
1. big lad
2. scores loads of goals for Liverpool's reserves,
3. has scored the odd goal for the first team,
4. out of the picture at the moment (behind Crouch, Morientes, Cisse, Sinima-Pongole, Garcia etc)
5. and the son of SPIDER!!!!!
