9 points out of spurs, city and united, then down to 8th in a week because we can’t beat crap like southampton and imploded away at fulham again. just about sums us up.
If we had beaten Southampton and got a positive result against Fulham, but lost comfortably to Spurs, Manchester City and Manchester United would you be happier?

If we were consistent enough to beat the top sides and the bottom sides, we’d be title contenders. Is that your expectation?

In a way we are shooting ourselves in the foot by raising the expectations of some of our more… interesting supporters by beating the top sides. Maybe it would be better if we stuck to beating the bottom sides and took our medicine against the top sides like good little underdogs.

I have no idea what people expect. It’s like there are posters on here who unironically expect us to outperform teams with 10x our budget and history of success.

no and no.

not what i said at all, not even close. just amused by the consistent irony of being let down by not only not beating lower placed teams but also playing poorly during these games. to quote a certain former manager ‘it is what it is’

Although I thought we played well at Fulham and should've won but for silly errors. We just need to cut those silly errors out

I agree we played well until we equalised, but then we lost control IMO

I’m putting you on ignore by the way. I can’t tolerate your negativity. I’d rather have a pint and a chat with a Palace fan than a mood hoover like you.

:ROFLMAO:

Just calling it like I see it, I don't think our performances have been good enough and I do not think it's being overly negative to say we will finish around 10th place.

Careful there, you'll go on the ignore list!

Absolutely this. Just unacceptable that we're in 8th with a game in hand

Anything 10th or above in Fab’s first PL season is fine. Real test is next season for me.

Another issue is possibly losing players before next season. We do have a good squad at the moment, but it is a lot to ask for a new manager to get it all right from the start. It's so frustrating watching us come short against the bottom sides though.

I would say keeping our best players from last season and investing another £200m into the squad we should at least expect to dominate possession and create a hat full of chances against the promoted and bottom three sides. We made them all look reasonably competent and all could have won with more luck on their side.
For people to say oh Veltman didn’t play or Beleba was suspended is embarrassing.
If we had hit the post 18 times yep it wasn’t our night and we could live with it. We barely mustered 45 minutes of half decent football against them.

Well at least that Nottingham Forest win can put to bed the notion we ‘should be beating them at home’. I’ve seen multiple posters compare that result to the Wolves, Ipswich, Southampton draws. They have now won at Old Trafford and Anfield already this season and took the lead against us. That point is no disgrace at all.

I've compared them because we were better on the day, and Forest got a dodgy penalty.
