I remember some of those keeper performances and there were some incredible saves in there.

From memory: Nick Pope, Ben Foster, David Marshall and probably others.

Let one in and we would have won the game(s).

So you’re saying the multiple people on here were all wrong? Bold.

NSC has been saying this about keepers since August 11. Claiming stacks of saves are worldies. Tide.

Can't remember the shot on target to off target ratio but we did have loads of shots, presumably why our xg was incredibly good for a couple of seasons. The problem we had was actually scoring.
Indeed.

These are the stats from THAT Sheffield Utd home draw.

Like so many of Potter’s games around that period, we played like a top 6 EPL team but with Sunday League shooting.

The Potter Out Campaign always blamed him but when you looked at the firepower he had at his disposal (Connolly, Maupay, Jahanbakhsh etc) it’s not that surprising that we rarely scored despite creating brilliant chances.

One man's mid table mediocrity is another man's top 30 teams in the world
True but who enjoys the last 10 games of a season being dead rubbers? I don’t and fortunately Albion don’t do it too often

But if it floats your boat to think, hey we are going nowhere but we are one of the top 30 teams in the world, enjoy

True enough

But having spent well over 90% of my time supporting the Albion dreaming of just that, I am quite enjoying it

Not just NSC. You mentioned the Cardiff game. Plenty of other examples

Here’s the Ben Foster game. It happened.

I’m questioning xG. When we were inept up front in more ways than one **, xG became a big nsc and media Albion talking point for about two years. We were apparently churning out these European place numbers up front, a fox in the box away from glory days.

But it really wasn’t like that at games.

** there were some interesting discussions about that here. Imho it’s one thing that cannot be blamed on Potter. When a midfielder/striker wastes a team foray forward with a pathetic daisy-cutter, when it wasn’t even a good opening, that’s 100% down to the player.
But it was like that at games. There's literally videos of it. The whole football world was joking about it. People here were joking about it, daily.

Not a lot of dicussions are interesting when you realise most people don't have a memory with the capacity of correctly recollecting what happened years ago. Emotions sneak in and distort reality. Its very difficult to have interesting discussions with people (not necessarily you) when people constantly alter their world view based on what their hormones are telling them.

I am just dreaming of being in the mix, not ending up in mid to lower table mediocrity

At least a point tomorrow.
Rather win one lose one draws are pointless well apart from one obviously 🤣

If our keeper had let in any of those I would have been annoyed, Pope especially all straight at him. March was clean through and ran into him pathetic that was.

Welbeck? People often forget him under Potter.
