I see he is now the bookies favourite for the Wolves job. I wouldn't have thought he'd leave us for another Championship job?

Interesting - he'll have a much bigger budget at Wolves with the parachute payments, so must be tempted. If he's offered it he may well go.

But, they seemed to have a problem before with paying the compensation required, so perhaps it's not that likely from that respect.

If he goes, leaving his job half done, he goes - we've still got the Albion, the AMEX, and can get a quality replacement in - but please let him go quickly, no will-he-won't-he situations, and certainly not 5 seconds before the season kicks off.

It really wouldn't bother me that much, we'd get a cracking manager, there aren't too many jobs that
are better. I'm also getting a bit fed up of his Chelsea/Spurs illusions of grandeur.

Does this mean everyone is going to be outraged at Poyet's 'lack of commitment' to Brighton until he is seen kissing the Albion badge and pissing on a Palace shirt in the center circle at the Amex? Wonderful

Really can't see him leaving us for another Championship club regardless of bigger budgets.
But Alex McLeish is toast even if Villa manage to stay up. If they do, that's the one I'd be worried about.
BTW: Don't the parachute payments make a nonsense of financial fair play?

Not a big deal if he left as we can attract a decent manager, least a new manager might be more attack minded:D

Not sure why people blab on about being worried.

Totally agree. On Talk Sport yesterday they had a Villa fan on who said if they went down he would like Poyet, just the kind of manager to get them playing again and back into the Premiership.......and I thought to myself "Shit, that sounds just the kind of club that Poyet would aspire to...."

Would not surprise me.
THey wanted him, then appointed a stop gap in Connor.
And coppell ringing Crawley up for a job till end of season.

And all poyets constant talk of bigger and better I will go, and moaning re budget. I would not be surprised at all. He must know he will not get a job at spurs, chelsea etc. He is not good enough.

Oh come on. "If he leaves, he leaves"? I for one will be gutted if he goes. Not one person on that list quoted for Wolves is capable of playing the way we play now. Gus has given us an identity and finding a manager who will continue that would be very challenging. That said, its an easier blow to absorb than 12 months ago.

The identity might seem a good thing, but sadly most clubs in this league would call it boring football, that's just an opinion of cause. :)

You can never say never but i really cannot see Gus going anywhere at this moment in time-he for me has 1 year left at the very worst..

I'm relaxed and calm about it,like Gus..

I think it would be a big deal actually. Poyet is one of the best managers we've ever had and whilst there maybe plenty of "names" out there, how many would you really want? I wouldn't be complacent about it, he'll be a difficult act to follow.
