He'll be a superb appointment. He proved when he took over a team playing agricultural football with a big target man here that he can improve a side with time.

The weird agenda/obsession/delusion that he was a rubbish manager for us is both tiresome and nonsense
No weirder than people saying RDZ was worked out with most of the first team injured. Just as tiresome and nonsense.

Both fantastic managers for us, ended badly with both of them. I am not takings sides, both were excellent for, us one latterly and one early on

Pretty sure I read somewhere that RDZ was sacked (there’s a long thread about it), so can we be sure that he gave up on us?

He was great for us, its the way he left that riled most. Yes, we had several winless runs despite stacks of possession and missing chances galore but, he left us in a great position for Roberto to consolidate. Where we are now with Fab is, let's just say, work in progress but no wins in 8 albeit 6 draws without anyone really knowing our style of play as of yet!

Did you not watch us at the end of last season after the toys left the pram? :lolol:
Now you mention it, he did seem a tad truculent in those months.

I just thought his hoodie was too tight and it was causing him some discomfort. That would make any of us a bit grumpy.

Does Fab have a mental block to what happened in the previous game? Lamptey is having his best spell at the club this season forgotten about on Saturday. Enciso also was a threat v Villa didn’t get a look in.
I don’t know about this guy he drops and starts players for no particular reason. All seems very amateur hour.

Agree with both.

Potter did a great job (didn’t warm to him though), but without him RdZ would have had a more challenging job.

RdZ just took it a stage further sooner.

Both great managers IMO.

Potter did get a very long time here not winning at home for a year would see most managers sacked.
If he makes a mess of West Sham it will make for some interesting reading.

Very fair.
COVID helped him in terms of the home record, but the demolition of Man Utd will live with me for a long time, as will Marseille under RdZ (and QPR away under Hughton).

I actually preferred the 1-0 win against Man Utd under Hughts.
Knockhaert was unplayable and the atmosphere was rocking.
Our last three PL managers all provided great moments and some not so good ones.
